Barclays Execs Get No Criminal Charges for International Manipulation of Interest Rates, But You Can Go to Jail for Smoking Pot

Barclays Execs Get No Criminal Charges for International Manipulation of Interest Rates, But You Can Go to Jail for Smoking Pot | BuzzFlash.org

Is this S.O.P. for the 1%?

Do bankers operate under different law than you and I?

Why were the execs not found personally liable?

Is this an OK for them to keep doing it, because they reaped much more than the fines?

These are some of the groups bailed out by the taxpaying public, you and I, and this
is how we are repaid?

I don't think that's a fair comparison, since marijuana shouldn't be illegal in the first place. Market manipulation definitely should be.

Everyone shouts 1% like it's an us vs them issue. Many "1 percenters" are very beneficial to the country, not only through the generating of jobs, but through corporate philanthropy. Many of these "evil corporations" give hundreds of millions to non-profits, community projects, and medical research that are of great benefit to the alleged 99ers.

Some get off, some don't, it just depends on how deeply rooted the accused is, and how far their influence spreads. Same reason you'll never see a president go to prison, or why it's rare for a Sheriff to get pulled over for speeding. By no means am I justifying it, but that's how it is.

The ones that are higher up the food chain get better treatment, but the "expendables" are fair game in our current system.

Why were the execs not found personally liable?
I don't know enough about the case to give a definitive answer.

450 mil is a lot of money, even for a billionaire. That's a huge loss, and their name has been publicly tarnished. The Fed is srs bsns, nobody ****s with the Fed. Nobody, and the Barclay's know this now.

Yep, pretty much. Fantastic, isn't it? This is why I support sink or swim.

Everyone of those people involved should be thrown into prison.

450 million dollar fine out of a 2 billion dollar profit is nothing more than a cut for the government. These people should be thrown into prison.

You should leave the class warfare occutard nonsense out of this thread.

It's hard not to think class warfare. In another thread, a first time offender got 160 years in jail and most posters agree it was because he has no money to secure justice. We are beginning to focus on the real white collar crime and because of the bank bailouts most citizens can see that "justice is for the rich and influential," and unless we have a failure of the media (almost guaranteed, "Mighty Wurlitzer") the system must change. Don't hold your hand over your butt waiting for it to happen. Money talks, BS walks. We are in the hands and at the mercy of a bunch of crooks. Scumbag politicians, shyster bankers, politicized courts, blind patriots, and Corporate leeches.
