Sadly I believe there are people in this country hate our military...

Possibly, but I think there are more people in this country like me who think our military should be for defense, as specified in the Constitution.

My thoughts on military came from ways to save money. How is me wanting us to have the biggest military in the world despite cutting 1 trillion mean I dislike the military? Please explain this.

The reason uis where the cuts come from. They aren't cutting our unnecessary bases or unneeded troops, it would be cuts from veterans' benefits and things like that. That is not good. But we don't need 47 fully functioning bases in Iraq with many being only a few miles apart.

We tried the isolationist thing in 1939 and it did not work............you don't have to lay your butt on the line...That is why we have a all volunteer force........Just don't get in their way and let them do their job......

It actually worked quite well... It jumpstarted our pitiful economy, gave us time to strengthen, and was far more cost effective to fight a war for those few years instead of the entire span. It was great policy at the time. Furthermore, America was divided on the issue of involvement until Pearl Harbor

Is that what Bush did with them in Iraq? Got out of their way? He made them policemen in the middle of a foreign countries civil war. 5000 died needlessly. As a patriot I will do my best to see that doesn't happen again.

You are right back then our physical isolation gave us time to prepare. Our location doesn't mean much anymore but we don't need to prepare for another World War either. We already have plenty of H-Bombs to end it all.

We should have played more hands off in foreign conflict. We would be in a much better place now

So no answer, just cheapshots and self congratulations?

Its easy for you to say those things........We live in a shrunken world where we have things to protect, especially in the mid east like oil............Like it or not thanks to people like Hussein Obama we are dependent on the Arabs for that......I wish we could bring all our troops home but that is just not realistic.....

Obama has hardly made us dependent on the Arabs. For one, we have been dependent since shortly after WWII. Secondly, Obama has taken many steps to attempt to lessen our dependency

You really live in a fantasy world?

When I see things like this I think that maybe Obama should have stuck with the original plan and not cave-in to the giant insurance industry. The only way to keep these premiums from rising up is to better regulate them and to have Obamacare in full effect.

More competition, allow individuals to purchase policies across state lines would be one big help

But, the way it was written, Insurance companies had no choice in raising prices, I have read about half of the Law, it is mind boggling..... I wonder how many in Congress, even after all this time have read more than 100 pages of it :doh

Are you kidding me? Most of what ObamaCare does is ADD stuff to the 'minimum' things required to be in ALL medical insurance plans. Obviously adding benefits will increase premuim costs, even Obama knows that, yet he constantly lies, changing the subject to "overall medical care costs" which somehow include "savings" from the taxpayers covering what the deadbeats will not. It is all smoke and mirrors accounting. You can not add people to the 'system', cut premium costs and increase the benefits covered and save any money, it is mathmatically impossible.

Take this VERY simple example: Mr. Doe has $50,000 in the bank, runs his own small business, carries a 'catastrophic' medical insurance policy (very high deductable, very low premium cost and a very high annual limit - illegal under ObamaCare) and normally pays cash for his medical care and is now quite happy and a burden to no other citizen. He must now give up that 'good' insurance (yep, he can not keep it any more since it is not "fair", poor people can't use that kind of policy beacuse the annual deductable is $15,000) and either replace it with an Obama approved plan, that has much higher premium costs, or pay a fine. Mr. Doe is RIGHTLY upset, as either way he loses in an average year, based on his personal medical care experience. He must either waste money on buyig a more expensive medical care insurance policy, that he does not need (or want), or by paying the gov't fine.
