Doyou think Obamacare should be repealed?

Do you think Obamacare should be repealed?

A couple of problems with your points:

1. The Democrats seem to want to fix a number of problems by phasing out the Bush tax cuts...Obamacare's costs, the deficit, the debt, etc. I'm sorry, but y'all are gonna have to choose. That rise in taxes just won't cover it all.

2. Speaking of the rise in taxes...do you seriously think the Public will approve an increase in their taxes so that the government can TELL them what to buy?

3. "making the government more efficient"...do you even think that is possible? Has the government ever done that before?

4. "drawing down our military..."...National Defense is mandated by the Constitution...unlike any of the entitlement programs that eat so much money...and is the LAST place to cut. Start with the entitlements.

1: Actually some of the cost being paid of the healthcare act comes from the actual mandates themselves, and mixing it up with current social funding. As for the rest of it you can get all of it taken care of with being more efficient.

2: Do you seriously think that the small percentage that could see this increase won't get most of it back anyways, and are voters in the first place? You don't think they would ever, ever need medical coverage anyways that will ultimately steadily decline in cost?

3: The IRS is more efficient than it was previous, government jobs are slowly being cut due to more automation, it just takes welfare reform with the right balance to get much of the major problems taken care of. If everyone quit acting like dicks for 10 minutes it certainly can happen.

4: Even in 2001, our military's budget was more than all other countries combined. Why the hell does it need to be so big? Why does our intelligence budget have to be so big when most of the agencies go through so many bottlenecks and bureaucracy that it actually hurts our national security? Good place to start would be to repeal the PATRIOT Act.

It's easy to rail on the DOD as being too big. But the fact is, it's mandated.

As noted previously,

"Only defense is proscribed under the Constitution. We have no need to spend as much as the rest of the world combined for defense only.'

Yeah, but this is America you're talking about. Being a dick is practically encoded into our DNA.

LOL Defense contractor Pork is "mandated" and Healthcare is unnecessary. What planet are you from? The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

Stupid deflections don't rate a serious comment from me.

1. Sure, some of the costs are being laid upon the insurance companies and medical care providers...but who ends up paying those costs? Answer, the public. It's no different than raising taxes.

2. Medical costs are not designed to go down as a result of Obamacare...no matter what flavor of koolaid Obama, Pelosi and Reid are selling.

3. Those examples are a drop in the bucket of waste, fraud and abuse the government continues to pour our taxpayer money into.

4. No, a better place to start would be reducing or eliminating USELESS agencies and departments. The Defense Department is necessary.

I dont like obamacare I think its a mess, from the way it was formulated and rammed down everyones throat, it was destined to be a failure.
We do need some kind of health care reform and we need it fast. Lets face it.....Medicare and Medicaids two administrative costs are ridiculous on their own..then add all the bureacracy needed to keep everyone in line with obamacare and enforcing it...
Eventually like it or not this country will face having to go to one centralized system...as distateful as that is to some. We all pay top dollar for the uninsured to have sub par care and we cant keep doing that without being overwhelmed...because as the more the rich take and the more they send jobs out of country the more uninsured were going to have..

You have a simple view of what actually happens. It must be total bliss. Calling every little thing a drop in a bucket is the thinking that makes things bad in the first place. If you don't see the benefit in scaling down our massive military then I don't know man.

Nonsense. A reasonable health care plan is based on savings, a catastophic injury/illness policy and a long term disability policy. Insurance is intended for the RARE, expensive and 'unforseen' events. You do not expect your auto policy to cover oil changes, car washes or brake pad replacement, it is only for major accident damage and injury to others. You do not expect your homeowners policy to cover light bulb replacement, a repair or replcement of the clothes dryer or a periodic reshingling of the roof, it is for storm, fire or wind damage only. The use of 'health insurance' for routine and inexpensive care, e.g. cleaning, stiching and dressing a wound, treating a minor infection or normal delivery of a baby is insane, as these are normal and expected expenses. A policy would cost very little if it required an annual dedectable of $7,000 and then paid all expenses up to $1,000,000 per year. If you can not afford a plan like that then you likely qualify for Medicaid anyway. The long term disability insurance is very cheap as well, it only covers major illness down time and only until you can get back to work or qualify for SSI disability. The reason that health (medical) insurance costs are rising is that many use these policies many, many times each year for all manor of minor medical expenses, driving up the paperwork costs for the insurance company, doctor and yourself. The same treatment that insurance companies are billed for $55.00, I get for $17.00 by paying the clinic cash, at the time of treatment. I do this once every month for a medication related lab blood test. The clinic gets paid immediately, does not have to send a bill and I save a lot of money too. Get out of the entitlement mindset and view ROUTINE medical insurance/expenses as you would any other item in your household budget.

Even the Secretary of Defense Panetta, a big liberal appointed by Hussein Obama has said in front of Congress the the military can not afford any more cuts by Hussein and the rest of his administration......

The military industrial complex at the size it is can't no. I never understood why a "conservative" such as you my liberal friend want to cut everything but think that it's ok if the military spend more on air conditioning than China's entire military budget, or if they spend $20,000 on boxes that transport soldiers KIA, a box that in actual parts and labor made in KY, cost about $900 to make.

I guess the old saying the truth hurts really applies to you my left wing friend...........

HAQHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHGAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I find your comment here super hilarious. Try reading what was written next time.

Unlike Medicare, ObamaCare and Medicaid seek to make medical care/insurance into a basic right for some at the expense of others. This is income redistribution at its worst. All people need food, clothing and shelter yet they are not rights, we are all expected to work and provide them for ourselves and to our dependents. As the gov't creates many more entitlement programs the separation from the need to work and a having a decent standard of living grows ever smaller. In the liberal, utopian society, work will be required only to secure luxuries, as all things considered to be needs will be supplied by the gov't as 'rights', through taxation of the (ever dwindling) productive. If a person gets a pet that they can not (or will not) feed and properly care for, then they are charged with a crime and the pet is taken to a shelter. If that same person has a child that they can not (or will not) feed and properly care for, then they are considered needy and given a gov't check as a reward - is that insane or what?

Yes, it would be if what you are stating was true...which it is not...What is stated is mostly opinion.

Believe it or not my left wing friend the military defend this country against attack.........They actually protect people like you who want to tie their hands behind their backs......

I must say that I agree with nearly, even all of this....it makes so much sense...

The $2 trillion war on Iraq was on behalf of Big Oil. Post Persian Gulf war Iraq was of no threat to the US or its neighbors. There is nothing in the Constitution about people being killed over oil.

Uhhh to "defend" our country do we really need a budget for the military to be that big?

No...I called YOUR little thing a drop in the bucket...you know, that drop you used to justify your attack on a Constitutionally mandated responsibility of the federal government. Meanwhile, you totally ignore the unmandated elephant in the room: aggregate entitlement spending. Try scaling THAT back first. Then we can see about defense.

I'm sorry, but the way the military spends it's ridiculous budget is out of control.

What's your point??? It was Saudis, not Iraqis, that attacked us on 9/11.

Saudis, Palestinians, Egyptians, etc. It was really a consorted effort by people of different nationalities, headed by a terrorist syndicate that did the meat of its training in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Iraq was it's own thing. They weren't a threat to us directly, but they were a threat to our resources.

All but one of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis. None were Iraqis. The only threat that Iraq presented to the US was withholding their own property, oil, to drive up world oil prices. Cheney's energy task force pointed this out in their report where they recommended military action against Iraq, 2 years before the attack on 9/11.
