I won't vote for either one of them because neither one of them comes anywhere near agreeing with my socio-political philosophies.

I am not voting for either one.I will vote for a 3rd party assuming there is one that matches my views and if my state doesn't screw 3rd party candidates this year.
If there is no 3rd party candidate I like or my state screws 3rd parties I will simply not check that part of the ballot. Now if Romney picks Gingrich as his running mate I might vote for Obama just because of the fact the GOP had the nerve to not only prop up one of the biggest RINOs for president but to have the epitome of scumbag politicians Gingrich run as VP.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I hope to someday live in an era where the candidate for president inspires my respect and awe. Hasn't happened yet for me.

So, elections in the EU are phony? Is that what the OP is saying?

Agreed. There has never been a politician running in any race, in any party, in my life that I've actually wanted to see in power. People I could respect and would like to vote for simply do not run for office in the United States. We have an inherently corrupt political system. As such, I vote for the lesser of the evils because I recognize that someone is going to win, with or without my vote, I might as well try to minimize the damage.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Re: Lesser evil or REAL elections?

Our elections are real...is there any ideal candidates, no there isnt and how can there be. No candidate can be a cookie cutter favorite of the majority just for himself....there are partisan divides, social and fiscal divides within any two candidates...
Our elections I would hope are the fairest in the world

I selected number four, but I can't address the question in your OP because I don't know much about EU elections. Are they phony? If so, why?

I say there isn't party that would support my views in both Slovenia and Serbia. That is what I am saying. Last time there was guy who was I vote for him because he is good was Đinđić 10 years ago before CIA or SRS or DSS or mafia or whoever killed him.
I mean in Slovenia there isn't eurosceptic party or anti-NATO party or real communist party and all of these would get support from folks right away. I am saying that people aren't represented in good ways.
About Serbia - Well in Serbia there isn't I am socialist, conservative etc. There is I am ______ party. People see themselves via parties not views. That was in Serbia since 19. century.

EDIT: I need to make this clearer. So there was Communist party of Yugoslavia. They were commies and pan-Slavs. And all commies were pan-Slavs since that was policy. There was never Serbian communism only Yugoslav communism.

But I think this thing is in USA even bigger since there are 2 options.
