Thank you, Mr. Santorum. I know Republicans who plan to write in Ron Paul, and, frankly, I don't blame them.

I’m thinken that Ron Paul is setting up for an independent run.

Just to clarify before I go a bit bonkers....

Centrist in ideology or Centrist in terms of eventual tangable policy decisions?

Is being a centrist essentially the same as being pragmatic for a president?

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

The GOP has been taken over by the extreme right-wing; and I'm not a liberal. The extremes took over in 1979 and it's been the same ever since.

    Re: Who is more liberal?

The candidates have chosen or are moving toward the big bell-curve base at the center.

This is not surprising, as when the great majority at the center chooses which of the two evils to support in November, the candidates like to think they'll choose the more lesser one than the less lesser one.

The last thing either candidate wants to do is covertly be either an obvious liberal or an obvious conservative.

And, of course, each opposition wants to paint their opponent as far to the opponent's true wing as possible, away from the big voter base.

For Obama, he's "moved" more to the middle ever since the conservative Repubs captured the House and added more members to the Senate. For Obama, this was a survivalist tactic.

For Romney, he's long known where the voter base is, and also, in a two-dog race against pretty much any Dem., that he can count on the conservative base for support.

But, I don't think it's rocket-science material to know where each candidate would truly be if they had a super majority of their wing in both houses: Obama, liberal, Romney, conservative.

So, the answer to the OP question is, Obama, no-brainer.
You don't trust Trump? Well, there's only one way to leverage him to do what's economically right for us all: Powerful American Political Alliance. Got courage?! .. and a mere $5.00?

    Re: Who is more liberal?

Romney is a Cameleon, meaning he changes color depending upon the environment, he will say anything in order to get elected. When he ran for Ted Kennedy's seat in Massachusetts he was more liberal than him. Now that he's the presumptive nominee of the Republican party he says he's a conservative.

    He is a liar!!!
