Pro-abortioners/pro-choicers poll.

Pro-abortioners/pro-choicers what do you support?

Different issues, different beliefs behind these issues. The poll is essentially a giant straw-man that tries to catch people in some kind of hypocrisy that isn't there.

Agreed. None of the poll has anything to do with the abortion issue or topic. It is an attempt to stereotype people on the topic and that doesn't work.

... the weird thing about this poll is that "pro-abortioners" is a made up word that is inconsistent with the very label pro-lifers gave themselves. If you are pro-life, then anyone who does not mesh with your views is by definition anti-life. As there is nobody who is even suggesting an anti-life position but reproductive CHOICE, then by definition the only terms that exist are pro-choice and anti-choice. You jamesrage, are arguing against people who dont exist.

Actually if you want to drop all pretense of propaganda; the correct terms are anti-abortion and pro-abortion choice.

I prefer pro-abortion rights and anti-abortion rights, as to me the debate is whetehr abortion should be a right, but yours are still better than pro-choice/pro-life.

I think even that designation of yours is a bit of propaganda as it assumes abortion as a right to start with.

*sigh* I really hate "gotcha" polls, especially when they are so poorly done. :(

Yeah, it's hard to formulate a perfect set every one will agree upon. Mine is not intended as it is a right, but whether it should be, but I see how it could be construed your way.

It can and would be construed that way by certain parts to make their propaganda. In the end, much of the abortion debate comes down to various forms of propaganda on both sides. The terms pro-life and pro-choice are propaganda terms of the abortion debate and cannot be applied outside that debate. I do think the anti-abortion and pro-abortion choice is as good as it's going to get for actual descriptions of political point.

Did you mean to say anti-abortion relative to pro-abortion choice or anti-abortion choice relative to pro-abortion choice? At the highest levels of these various positions there is a difference I think.

You are using false logic by attempting to link my body, my choice with abortion while ignoring pro-life also can support the death penalty.
I never said that the pro-life crowd is incapable of hypocrisy. We already have a thread for that, so let's not hijack this one.

What's so hard to understand? If someone is against gun control, yet supports TSA screenings, that kinda sorta looks like a contradiction on the surface, but not necessarily. OTOH, if someone says that they're against gun control because freedom is more important than safety, and then turns around and supports the TSA screenings, THAT's hypocritical. Likewise, it isn't necessarily hypocritical to support abortion rights and oppose legalization of drugs, BUT, if you cite a lofty principle that transcends the abortion debate, such as "my body, my choice", as your REASON for supporting abortion rights, you have to stick to that principle if you don't wanna be a hypocrite.

Yes, both terms are bogus. "Pro-life" suggests that you're anti-life if you disagree, and "pro-choice" suggests that you're anti-choice if you disagree.

Probabortion is not a made up word.
