Henrin...there is NO RIGHT NOR WRONG...with a persons perception of freedom.....there are some people in the world that are as oppressed as it gets and they are HAPPY...as spoiled americans were never happy

Freedom means something and if someone is wrong on what it means, they are wrong. There is no out card where you can claim you are right and I'm right at the same time, sorry.

The last bit is just confusing. What in the world does happiness have to do with freedom? You can be slave and treated amazingly well and as happy as can be. Guess what? You are still a slave and you still are not free even if you might be the happiest you have ever been.

Your first comment made no sense...the perception of freedom is the interprtation of each individual..there is no ABSOLUTE FREEDOM on this planet.

If you believe your free you are...

The goals of humanity revolve around freedom. Do you agree or disagree?

If you believe your free you are...

There is perception and then there is reality. Believing perception equals reality is a falsehood.

After all this talk you have had with people on the term you're still asking the wrong questions? Really?

For the most part yes...humans should be as free as they can be....but unfortunately we humans are flawed...and have to be restrained from doing whatever WE WANT TO WHEN WE WANT TOO...

henrin lets break this down ok....

Is it a right of Freedom...to kill another human...or to rape a child...or to rape a woman...is it freedom to ram your car into your X wife because she rejected you for another. Is it freedom for me to walk in a restaurant and stick my finger in your food because i feel im free so I can do that....yes i know rediculous examples....but examples to show why humans Americans Included cannot have the FREEDOM to do whatever they want...some one has to make rules as to what they CANT DO...and I believe americans have the freedom to do more of what they want than any other on the planet...right now.

different people have different concepts of freedom. Mine involve doing something without the government acting against you. To some-freedom means being able to do something by forcing others to pay for it

As someone who's total family wealth is either equal, or surpasses yours.

And knowing you're still doing well.

Your bitching about this never ceases to amaze me.

Very true...Im not approaching this issue from a cost perspective...Im approaching it from a freedom perspective and what it costs to be be free in RESTRICTING behavior....yours is a different aspect im not addressing.

I am Canadian I believe my country is just as free as the USA. In some respects we are freer in others we have less freedom. It all depends on exactly where you look.

As to how I percieve freedom. I believe that your freedom ends where anothers begins. In other words you should be allowed to do anything you want as long as you don't interfere with anothers freedom.

Turtle is a good guy Jet...his whining has become a forum habit for him...theres many of us whine about the same thing reduntantly

wow, your family is worth that much over 80 million? I am impressed

And how is that bitching-I am merely noting the position of several so called left wing libertarians who say someone who cannot earn their own food and shelter is not free.

Your whining about me is amazing

thanks but Jet seems not to know what whining is. that post of mine was not whining

Well said..:)

The freedom to do what exactly?

To take any action one chooses so long as it doesn't infringe on the freedom or property of another person.

that interferes is good but some will claim if you are rich or successful you are interfering in their ability to be financially better. Some clowns claim if you own a gun you are interfering with their right to be safe. If you are involved in a gay marriage, you are interfering with the sanctity of their marriage

in other words, some people have rather idiotic and subjective views of freedom

I whine...I admit it....I whine about public workers getting shafted and I whine about working americans being SCREWED by the rich...and I truly believe that is exactly whats going on...so we can have a mutual whine fest over that subject...lol

You continue to fudge the term. I see no reason to continue this as you have clearly showed my point I was making to you.

Thats why I said...freedom is a perception...if you believe your free you are...Americans will never be happy...the only time they will say they are free if you give them whatever they want....and thats not going to happen...america is the freest of the free...and americans complain the most they arent free

Henrin get it right...you dont want to continue this because your wrong and you dont have a leg to stand on...lol...but thats ok you can blame me lol

I still want to know how you can not know the answer to these questions after talks with many posters on this forum about the term including myself.

true but there has been an erosion of freedoms. and as I noted, many of the welfare socialists believe that promoting income redistribution makes the recipients freer

but you do have more constrained freedom of speech.

To take any action one chooses so long as it doesn't infringe on the freedom or property of another person.

Thats why there has to be leaders to WRITE laws restricting what one person can do to another...that is not restricting their freedom...its assuring FREEDOM FOR ALL...the weak included...
