    question "everything"???

not everything needs to be questioned.

    some things simply are.

Very few things simply are and theory's like Darwinism definitely don't fit in the simply are category. In fact give me some examples of things that simply are, I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I agree with questioning and evaluating everything...but by doing so we can verify and move on.

"question everything" mantras remind me of my shampoo-
    Lather, rinse, repeat...

More to the point is an old saying, quit polishing the cannonball and SHOOT!

Or as my last fortune cookie said, "man who questions everything stands for nothing"

Well it makes as much sense as never DECIDING...

The rather extensive account on how science works should be tacked up somewhere so when people start tossing words like theory and proven around, a cheat sheet can be held up to correct the usage.

The only reason I can figure for why Intellegent Design is called a theory is because those who support it have difficulty spelling hypothesis....

That was my point, don't blindly accept anything that comes along, especially things that "everyone is saying". The trendy things that everyone accepts are the most unacceptable. Ninety % of the time band wagons eventually roll off a cliff. At one time "everyone said" the earth is flat and if you questioned that you were considered a lunatic, I mean what could be more obvious, the earth has to be flat or else you would fall off. This is where my point about there are few if any things that "simply are" comes into play. Sometimes things that seem so obvious are turned upside down when new information comes along.

Not a single one of those things are simple, they are all incredibly complex.

LOL. That sums it up quite well. Intelligent Design is a medicine man theory. Whenever it's spoken of, it should be accompanied by drum-beating loin-cloth dressed men dancing around a bonfire.

True but tequila can make you "simple", does that count?

Serioulsy though, the queston wasn`t things that are simple but things that simple are, ie things that just exist, if you want things that are simple then the question should have been posted that way. tecoyah gave a good answer to the question, though i suspect the question was meant to be a bit more than it actually was.

The list he gave actually proved my point, he couldn't think of any things that "simply are"" either, or to better put it any concept that simply is.
