Actually, no I don't follow the polls of the RW when it comes to your question because I don't really care that much about people whining, nor do I really know their individual situations. Here, on the Internet, we can get more of an explanation for why people feel they are better or worse off, overall, than we do just from looking at a poll.
Why do you think they are different? Most people have given quite personal reasoning behind why they have it better today than they did 3 years ago, even if its not very detailed for some. Reasoning that, for the most part, has nothing to do with their political lean, and certainly would be very little different if someone besides Obama was in office (providing it wasn't an actual dictator who set up a very restrictive government for everyone).
Maybe those who have fallen on harder times cannot afford to be on the Internet, particularly DP, discussing whether their life really is better or worse. Maybe DP just has a larger amount of people who are able to make their lives better no matter who is President.
So your not even a little curious as to why the voters in DP are so out of touch with the real world?
