Why are you so bitter that some people have improved their standing in life? Is there some unwritten rule that everyone is supposed to just wallow in misery until someone they like is elected? If you refuse to do anything to improve your life situation until the government's political priorities perfectly align with yours, then you'll be unhappy forever.

I am sure some people have done fine but the reality is most have not so I naturally question the 90% in here that say they have prospered under obama. I smell fish.

My life has, in general, been getting better with each year I am alive. This has been the case regardless of who has been in the White House or who was controlling Congress at the time.

Finally a lib I can agree with, you make your own reality, to a point anyway.

Facts don't change in a year friend, in fact things are even worse now friend.

Even if that's true (which it isn't) again this thread was about individuals and whether they are doing better.

Nobody who said yes did so because they are "liberal" they did so because they feel they are better off now then they were before.

End of story.

What you're trying to do in this thread is non sequitur.

Fact is this economy is in the toilet and I am not buying all you libs and your rosy story's. Face FACTS, we are in alot of damn trouble here.

so you think I am lying about buying a new car, paying off my pension buy-back, no long paying my pension premiums, my friend buying a house in Vienna, my other friend buying an apartment in Manhattan, my sister and cousin finding permanent work after being layed off?

sorry, but I'm not lying. Even though it clearly bothers you that some folks are doing better than they were 3 years ago, many of us are. Its a simple truth.

What a socialist, jealous that other people are doing better than you

I think we should redistribute jealousy so that we can all hate our lives equally

If you people think this is a good economy I would hate to see your idea of a bad one and if some in here are not stretching the truth a bit on how good they personally are doing I would be very surprised, this forum would really defy the odds. Then again the libs that are not doing so well may just be sitting on their hands for this conversation.

I look at it this way. Yes I am doing better than I was 3 years ago, but it wasn't like I was doing bad at any time in my adult life. I just started my business about 6 months before the election. So naturally it should grow as I go forward. I have lived below my pay my entire life. I bought a house I could afford and worked on it since day one. The house was valued higher 3 years ago than it is today but still worth more than I paid for it and put into it. I have always worked hard and so has my wife. I have never not had a job and never used unemployment. I always looked at it as no job is beneath me. I believe me living this way is exactly why I consider myself a conservative. I take responsibility for my actions and my life and I expect the same from everyone else. I believe my success is based on my performance and not what happens in Washington.

Fact is I may have been doing better at this point if taxes had not increased or some new regulation had not hampered business, but I am still moving forward. No matter who is in office or what lean they have, I am still going to work hard and try to move forward. As far as who I am voting for? It won't be a Democrat as I don't agree with the agenda. I wish I had better choices with the other side, but it is what it is.

As an American I am glad to hear so many doing so well. That means regardless of all the backwards politics we are seeing, we are still surviving.

If your house is worth more than you paid 3 years ago you must have got a hell of a deal on it. All my real estate is down 30% in that time.

I just noticed I have 666 likes, someone push the like button QUICK, that's a scary number!

I did get a great deal on it. Bought it from my parents. It was the house I grew up in and it needed remodeled.

It has been on a steady decline. My wife just had a realtor over to our rental in town and he advised we keep it as a rental a few more years. We bought it 15 years ago for 120K and renters have paid it off so thats good but it was worth 275K a while back and we were counting on that as part of retirement but it's worth around 190 K now, oh well. Good news is my colon exam went well. LOL

There is always a bright side to every story. Glad to hear your exam went well.

The person who is most responsible for your success or failure is YOU. Not Barack Obama, not George Bush, not anyone in Congress.

anyone who owns a lot of stock in Apple, is much happier today than they were 3 years ago.

even the Republicans. :)
