You should be grateful that Obama has done so well with the economy, otherwise do you think your son would have gotten a 70K a year job already? With the economy the way Bush left it he wouldn't have had a chance. NO one was hiring.

What if I'm better off today than I was 3 years ago because 3 years ago I was in school and not working, and because of all that hard work, I graduated and got a job in my field of study? The president had nothing to do with that.

You hush now. if your life is better, it is because the federal government and Obama provided it for you and if it is worse, it is Bush's fault. You apparently are completely and willfully disregarding the script.

I'm so sorry I'm actually doing well. Just because you choose to be miserable doesn't mean the rest of us have to.

A qualified person can prosper even in tough economic times, and a disaffected person will have trouble even in good economic times.

When I look back over the course of my life, it has its share of ups and downs. But virtually ALL of the ups and downs are related to my personal circumstances, not politics. I don't think of my own life in terms of who was president when I was 16 or 21 or 27...I don't know of anyone who does.
I sometimes check in here during my lunch break but rarely do I post. I was thinking about this thread this morning though and your post fits into my thoughts. When Bush was pres all I heard from libs was how people just couldn't get by due to his economy, you know the 3.2% growth the average of 4.2% unemployment. Now suddenly like magic with unemployment over 8% and a 1.5% growth rate it is all about personal responsibility and the president has no real impact on your financial well being. This dramatic turn around in your way of thinking is astounding and you are starting to sound like conservatives with all this personal responsibility talk. Congratulations on your epiphany, lets see if it last through the next rep administration.

You should have asked the question: Has Obama Made America Better off Today Than It was 3 Years Ago

    Less room for personal situations.

I think the smartest words that a US president has ever said about our personal well-being came from a Republican. A fellow by the name of Abraham Lincoln: "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

(Of course, the quote is somewhat ironic, given that he struggled with depression his entire life, but the sentiment is correct. )

Hussein Obama had nothing to do with it...........Its called having a brain and a 4.0 GPA............Carnegie Sciences recruited him........He had a choice of 3 jobs and did not even take the highest paying one........He took Carnegie because he liked what he would be doing better.........

Yeah when Bush left unemployment was at about 5% now its 8.2% under Hussein Obama......you do the math......
