Me too. Anyone need a highly trained intelligence officer?

Yes. It is. It really is. They came for the money we owed them, I think.

though i dont condone alot of wars out there, someone has to fight them, and not everyone is cut out to do so.besides the physical and mental strain of war, most people cant handle going from their nice house, car, starbucks everyday to living in foxholes, filling sandbags for 18 hours a day, sleeping in a tent with no heater or ac and bugs and snakes constantly finding their way in,and lastly eating mre's,field rations, and god forbid t-rats.i simply would not expect everyone to handle these situations, let alone tolerate them.

however just because not everyone is cut out for military service and war, does not mean you cant serve your country.everyone should in someway serve their country.if you cant go to war you could run the volunteer fire department, run a soup kitchen, etc.serving your country means to better your country through volunteering to help.
I have had C-rations and MREs, I have had the German squad rations, I have slept on the ground between a snow bank and a jeep, I have slept at the edge of the woods, just inside a tree line, and spent weeks outdoors without the benefit of a hot meal (or a shower). One year I spent 200 days living outdoors, in the field, in the heat, the dust, the rain, the mud, the cold, and the snow. I gladly gave it all up to live in a 4300 square foot custom built home high on a hillside in Alabama.

I am too unfit to ruck for hours on end and fight when I get to where I was heading. But I know how to gather and interpret facts gathered on the enemy, the weather, and the terrain.

I have learned throughout my career that it takes more than grunts to win a war. I have multiple mos, combat arms and support side that I think would be useful in such a scenario.

Every little bit counts. I just like to blow **** up, and kill things. 2nd Engineers taught me the joys of explosives and fire, plus I just got a new .38, and I kinda want to see what a +P hollowpoint does to a communists skull. I'm assuming we'd be invaded by communists if the scenario arose. The CIA, FBI, and Intel guys can do all the smart work, I'm more interested in making the highest enemy authority squeal like a pig.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

    Squeal like a pig?

    Deliverance style?
"I condemn the ideology of White Supremacy and Nazism. They are thugs, criminals, and repugnant, and are against what I believe to be "The American Way" "
Thus my obligatory condemnation of White supremacy will now be in every post, lest I be accused of supporting it because I didn't mention it specifically every time I post.

Is there any other way? I'm partially evil.

    Agree 100%.
Vietnam was due to a out of control fear of communism; Iraq and Afghanistan - a fear of Islam, (IMO) same with these other adventures(2014 - Iran) as an example.
We must have knowledge to replace fear.
A very difficult thing (Islam) and their nations....we had to "lash out" after 9-11-01, but much more thought should have occurred, as difficult as this is..I think that Iraq was, and needed to be a police state, and it still does..We should have seen this an targeted other areas (Afghanistan and Pakistan - non police states). They simply had no control over their criminal elements (al-Quada). or however this is spelled.
But, all of this is "just musing".

The question in the way is was posed is way too vague for you to get upset over any of the responses.

Are we "defending the USA" when we invade Iraq like we did in 2003?
Are we "defending the USA" in our current role in Afghanistan?

Are we "defending the USA" when we use drone strikes in Pakistan?

    The question is too vague.

So the responses are going to vary with how it's interpreted.

If the North Koreans were insane enough to send troops into California, New York, Florida, and multiple other states in the USofA, I don't think you'd see many people saying they would not defend their homeland.

Context. The op left too much out.
