What are your feelings on the Buffet Rule?

As you know, Congress will be taking a look at the Buffet rule in the upcoming days. How do you feel about it?

None of the above. Raise revenue maybe a bit, but not significantly. All it does is try and ensure that if you make more, you pay a higher effective rate.

I personally think that this has the potential to being good. I personally believe that this country has been making it easier for the rich to stay rich but harder for the poor to move up. That was one of the main causes of the Great Depression.

None of the above for me, too. I've thought about it a bit. At first glance, I thought, "Go ahead and pass it." On second thought, I don't think it solves any problems....raises not-much-revenue...and further complicates a system system in need of drastic reform from the ground on up.

How exactly does it promote class warfare? Putting the tax burden on the poor and taking it off the rich is class warfare IMO

how many middle class people pay an EFFECTIVE rate of 30% in federal income taxes? almost none if any at all. its an idiotic idea

now if the purpose was to make EVERYONE pay the SAME effective federal income tax rate I'd BE ALL FOR IT

its based on the false premise that the rich aren't paying their fair share or that its wrong that a few people who have nothing but high amounts of earned income are paying a higher effective rate than those who have only investment income. It ignores the fact that those who have dividend income have had the money they receive often taxed TWICE by the government before they get it

Why would someone who is struggling to stay afloat with the current taxes be forced to pay more? And we practically are all paying the same rate since there are so many loopholes
