Just the facts ma'am, "effective tax rates for high-earning Americans are either at their lowest level since 1960 or at least very close to their lowest level."

PolitiFact Florida | Debbie Wasserman Schultz says tax rates lowest since the 1950s for wealthy Americans

and the burden on everyone else is even lower than it was then too

fact remains, the rich now pay a higher proportion of the federal income tax now than we did over the last 60 years

Until you pay as much actual tax dollars as I do you have no credibility in whining that I should pay more

Debbie Wasserman whatever is a complete 'tard. citing her is idiotic

The GOP war on Iraq was on behalf of big oil, the most profitable industry in the history of the world.

You ought to take that crap to the conspiracy thread section where it belongs. Why did your messiah continue that war then?

From the mind of a child.

Its not childish to call Obama descriptive names-some of which would ring up the automatic expletive deletion

and mind of a child-not a term you ought to be throwing around

just sayin............

Let's see your facts to back up your claim that the working class tax rates have lowered as much as for the wealthy over the last half century?

fact remains, the rich now pay a higher proportion of the federal income tax now than we did over the last 60 years

Thats because the rich have more of the country's wealth than they have had over the last 60 years. It doesn't change the fact they are paying a lower tax rate.

I wasn't citing her, I was citing the analysis by politifact, that you have not disproved, "counselor."

If the rich are paying more of the income tax burden now what does that tell someone who is able to think

47% don't pay federal income taxes now

far less were zero FIT payers 20 years ago

Is that good or bad? Please explain your answer.

For someone that understands the intention of our forefathers in instituting the progressive tax and has supported it as the rule of law under both parties have through the decades, it is bad, because it has allowed too much wealth and power concentrated at the top for our consumer economy to prosper.

Its a lesson we should have learned by the Great Depression, but apparently, Americans are low slearners.

I love your admiration and worship of the turds who got the scourge of the progressive income tax going. Wilson for example and then FDR. I cannot think of two presidents whose long term impact on this country was more deleterious than those two asswipes

Just I thought, no facts to back up your previous wild claim. The rich are paying more taxes because they own most of the wealth. And once again, FIT make up less than half of federal taxes.

If you wish to try to bleed the working class and seniors even more, Romney is your man!

Thanks for the fascist point of view!

As you know, Congress will be taking a look at the Buffet rule in the upcoming days. How do you feel about it?

I think it's important to point out, if it hasn't been mentioned already, that Obama has raised taxes on Buffet's secretary twice already through Obamacare, and is about to raise taxes on her again by letting the Bush tax cuts expire.

it has allowed too much wealth and power concentrated at the top for our consumer economy to prosper.
That's a mathematical assertion that requires data for support.

Welp...let see who's not paying FIT

Alright now. We see who's not paying. Can anybody offer LEGITIMATE REASONS why these various groups aren't paying.

And if possible...leave off the snide bull**** remarks and attempt to talk about this without unless slams.

It looks like the great majority are in or near poverty.

should those who are unable through their own fault or even no fault of their own be telling other people that those other people ought to pay more?

"From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage." Alexander Fraser Tyler, a Scottish born British lawyer and writer (1747-1813).

OR...

Someone once wrote:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

Is the above how you see it TD?

sounds like a combination of a Byrds Song (Turn turn turn) and "Where have all the flowers gone"

Well...I had to jump back and add a little to my post. And turn turn turn ...sounds about right. But there are a lot of theories on where the flowers have gone.

Most of them don't even vote, much less have leisure time to tell other people their political views.

could have been eaten by herds of alpacas for example or merely rabbits

true, rather they "spokespeople" tend to be rich trustafarians and Mercedes Marxists

So...TD, did you catch the part I had to add...with Turn Turn Turn and Where have all the flowers gone?

Here...

Is this what you see happening....in your humble opinion?

That would the far right view, the liberal view is what is best for our economy and our fellow citizens.
