Absolutely YES. It should be fully legal in a brothel environment. Each week, each seller must renew his/her license, receiving a medical exam and being put in a private room with a LEO to give them the chance to be removed from the premises if they are there involuntarily.

Until the late 80s Wallace Idaho had a legal house of prostitution and gambling, slot machines in bars etc. It was legal in that the cops just didn't arrest anybody but then the Feds came in and shut everything down. The madam was very generous and donated money to buy the HS football team uniforms and to other good causes. It was a clean, safe and well run bordello. They checked out every customer for VD so you felt fairly at ease going there. It was a right of passage in those days and many 18 year old kids lost their virginity there as a BD gift from buddies. Beats the Hell out of the sleazy crack whores that people frequent in downtown Spokane these days.

Why did it close? There is no federal law against prostitution (other than transportation across state lines).

Beats me how they did it but the Feds swarmed in one day and shut everthing down. The bordello is now a big tourist attraction because the girls went running into the night as the FBI came into town so every room is just like they left it, kinda suspended in time.

    My words exactly.

But most likely it won't happen because the power hungry don't want people to be free. They would tax them and jail them instead.

Is prostitution legal for medical reasons in any jurisdiction? 'Cuz that would be awesome.

Seriously, though, I think prostitution should be legal. Why the hell not? If it's regulated by the government, it's safer and healthier for everyone involved. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Until recently, disability programmes in the Netherlands included a stipend for hiring prostitutes on account of the loneliness and isolation that many disabled people deal with. The idea was too liberal even for the Dutch and only lasted for a few years.

All sex between consenting adults should be legal. Human sexuality should be legalized instead of oppressed.

Re: Should prostitution be legal and not just for medical reasons?

I'm entirely fine with prostitution being legalized and regulated by the government. After all, sex is something entirely natural, unlike drug use. I have no problem with people being compensated for providing sex to adults willing to pay for it, so long as the transaction is honest, voluntary, legal and clean.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.
