The new definition of "Racist".

What do you think of the new definition?

1. it is racist to cheer for the white guys
2. it is racist to assume they will be the underdogs, when the evil history of slavery in this country means that blacks are unfairly held back and kept from fully developing their talents - in fact blacks are the underdogs in basketball due to the fact that 200 years ago before it was a sport only whites would have been allowed to play.

both of you need to send money to Al Sharpton right now.

Racists are mad in three ways:

(a) they believe the human race is somehow divided up into other races based on such a very small range of our various genetic differences as they can ignorantly observe.

(b) they seriously believe themselves to belong to one of these fantasized archaic groups.

(c) they are under the illusion that their imagined groups is somehow 'superior' to other imagined groups, and that they themselves benefit from this madness.

Frankly, they are not fit to offer opinions or vote. They are nutters.

thanks for proving my point:lamo

What happened to your fake "me no speak english good" act? Been taking language classes?

Racism is simple. It's taking skin color into account as a means of considering, treating, granting rights or privileges, etc., both positive and negative. So long as you are considering skin color at all, with a very few exceptions, you are a racist. Those exceptions might be things like medical treatment, where race does make a demonstrable difference.

never claim this while discussing with meathead..

While we're making things up, conservatives think that to be a racist, one has to literally say "X is an inferior race" out loud and in public.

Moderator's Warning:
Trolling, baiting, namecalling, off topic crap, it all ceases now.

racism:

1. the belief that a race is inferior to another race.

2. hatred, prejudice, & bigotry against another race.

This is correct except you forgot to add on to #2 hatred, prejudice, & bigotry against another race, based solely on race.

Other than that, I agree.

I do not like the first part of the definition provided for the poll because it allows people to assume intent and allows people to be ultra-sensitive.

I voted "other." Number 2 is a type of racism, but number 1... seriously? Someone may act negatively towards another person, of any race, for a variety of reasons - including that person damn well deserving it. It may or may not have anything to do with their race.

I think most people, especially older folks are subconsciously racist. That is to say, they probably dont even think what they are doing or saying is racist. This I think is another reason why conservatives get bunched up with racist because the vast majority of registered Republicans are older. I know a lot of older black folk that are the same way about white people also. A lot of the immigration stuff is most certainly tied to race as well.

I'm an "older person," 57,

and until Obozo happened onto the scene and I started getting called a racist for anything I said about him,

I was pretty much over the whole thing.

Having been a nurse,
I know that the races ARE different;
being a logical human being,
I know that profiling is the only sane way to apprehend criminals;
wanting to know more from a scientific point of view,
I've seen studies regarding the myriad differences between us.

Recognizing that there ARE differences should help each of us to better utilize our own strengths,
to pin-point problem areas that can be addressed and truly helped,

not cause us to be labeled some hateful tag-name.

This ostrich routine of ignoring our differences isn't logical nor sane, imho.

Stereotypes (and thus racial profiling) exist because a large enough subset of the target group exhibit the behavior. Black people do like fried chicken and watermelon. White people do like mayonaise. If you want to end racial profiling, convince the people of your race to stop the behavior being profiled.

Case in point, the large group of black teens who looted and vandalized a random walgreens allegedly in protest over the trayvon martin shooting.

soo stupid, it hurts.

white people don't like watermelon?????????????

I fixed that for you.

Actually, it is common among idiots to call any one they disgree with on any topic remotely related to race in any possible way "racist".

The only time I see someone on the right calling someone here on the left a "racist" is in response to being dogged for days by the left leaning poster that the other is a racist. It's not equal here. Many things are, but there is no comparison.

I can't believe how much stupid you manage to fit into a single post.

Then stop the people of your race? What kind of moronic statement is that? I'll get right on it boss! We be good nigga's and tell da rest of dem darkies; massa Oscar said to be good!

So blacks are lazy and like to steal? That is also a stereotype like Mexican's being lazy? The problem is you are confusing racial issues for things that are cultural. Your watermelon and fried chicken for example. Most Southerners like it as well. Has nothing at all to do with race. Far to many come from antiquated bigotry that people like you obviously cling to.

And white people go berserk over sporting events. So what?

Amen. I was going to literally say everything you did including the Southern food stuff, but I didn't have the patience and just went with, "this is stupid."
