There are no religious racist views that I am aware of, which are believed to be legitimate today. I'm not sure if there really ever were. Religious communities tend to accept others based on sameness of religious and doctrinal belief, and not based on skin color. Thought and belief cannot be legislated out of existence. The only means of not tolerating racism is in legislating actions which result from those thoughts and beliefs. Thus racism is not something one can deem illegal- only acts which are based on racism can fit that criteria.

my point is this: if some folks believe that religious-motivated bigotry against gays can/should be tolerate, why not religious-motivated racism?

    "Free Speech"
    Such a misunderstood thing.
It can never be completely free, it must be limited.
Hatred, intolerance, racism, homophobia, bigotry must be out of the equation..

So, since racism against blacks can sometimes be considered to be motivated by religion, should we be expected to have more tolerance for such beliefs...as a way of respecting religion?

some argue that since homophobia is sometimes motivated/excused by religion, homophobia should be tolerated as religious-expression. I want to know how far we should tolerate bigotry, as a form of religious expression.
When a sick mind writes his version of history and then, thousands of years later people accept this trash as gospel.....I can see all kinds of problems....
But, are we, of the 21st century any better ??

Aint that the truth. Might as well go to Wikipedia and find something about burning witches and then making a grievance about how I'm all upset it.

You should look up some of the Christian Identity religions. They are absolutely racist.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

    lol ....

Xianophobes seem to think opposition to homosexuality couldn't possibly come from anything but religion, for some reason. It's called 'brainwashing', indoctrination, and other things as well.

sure, extreme homophobia can come from religion, insecurity with one's sexuality, & being a closeted homosexual.
