What is there to take seriously? It turns out that this is just another one of your thunderous Christian-bashing threads, that serves no purpose other than as an expression of your obsession with pointing out the motes in other people's eyes while denying the beam in your own.

what you are saying is exactly what I observed in east Texas in the 60's......the local version of bible thumpers condemned other faiths, condoned racism, and printed pamphlets that they sold in their "christian" book stores that were nothing more than hate literature aimed at catholics, jews, JW, etc..
But if they were challenged for their actions, they claimed than they were the victims of christian bashers...
I called them crybaby christians. So, motes and beams, my rosy red posterior.....when a religion starts being militant about their beliefs and tries to force them on others, it is facism, not conservatism....

The problem is not that their are bad Christians out there or someone pointing this out. The problem is people saying "religion" while only pointing out the Abrahamic religions and painting all Christians as the same like we are some kind of clones.

I hven't read in detail, but I don't see any religion being pointed out, but if so that does not imply tha others are being excused.....
and "all" christians means different things to different christian groups....

in my experience, from reading and watching the news, there are some Jews who are not Jewish enough for other Jews, and there are some Christians who are not good enough for other Christians, and so on, even for Muslims...

Especially for Muslims! j/k lol

Um no, the descendants of Cain are not modern day blacks. Read the book of Genesis again, this time try it with your eyes open. The story of Cain and Abel was thousands of years before the story of Noah's ark. All of Noah's descendants were equally closely related to Cain. The entire human race is equally closely related to Cain. The Bible is quite explicit that the denizens of Sodom and Gomorrah were the descendants of Ham, and that they were all killed, so they were definitely not the descendants of modern day blacks. Sure, you can find "some that believe" that blacks are descended from this or that Bible villain, but ignorance of what a religion believes, isn't a religious belief. Name a religion that supports racism before asking if they should be protected by freedom of religion. . Oh right, there are none. All religions oppose racism. As to homophobia, it's not a religious belief either. The Bible says that homosexual prostitution is unclean ( doesn't belong in a church) but it says the same thing about heterosexual prostitution. The Bible says that the only valid marriage is between two people who have never had premarital sex with anyone, and never been married before, so opposing gay marriage isn't a religious belief. Opposing all marriages of non-virgins and divorcees and gays would be a religious belief, but opposing gay marriage alone, is just selective deafness of the Bible's teachings. There is no religion that supports bigotry.

Sure, we don't really have much of a choice but to tolerate racism, regardless of why the person is racist. We live in a country with freedom of expression, which includes things like racism that most people don't approve of.

We shouldn't legally support racism, and we should punish anyone, regardless of the root cause for their racism, if they commit a crime because of their racist views.
