They have a right to vote, but I think it's wrong for those who don't pay to demand that others should pay and increase their rates.

It's somewhat like the homosexuality issue. People who are not homosexuals have the right to vote in order to define marriage, but it isn't right for them to deny homosexuals the ability to legally wed.

My point is...that I'm sure you use more in government services than you pay in state and federal taxes. Basically everyone does. So do you think you shouldn't have a say so in the school your kid goes to? Do you think you shouldn't have a say so to make sure your roads are taken care of? How about a say so to make sure markets are regulated and you can feel safe that your 401k isn't investing in some sham? How about the fact the medication you buy is safe?

Nobody on this board pays enough in taxes to outweight the benefit they get from government. This whole topic is ridiculous.

I'm not sure why you chose my post as a jumping off point for this rant. I am not complaining about the amount I pay in taxes. I am also not demanding that somebody else pick up the slack for the services I use that my taxes don't cover.

But just because government services are expensive and the costs tend to outweight revenues doesn't mean the solution is more tax burden on a specific set of people, and it certainly doesn't mean people don't have a right to complain about how taxes are applied and collected.

    Those bastards.

Good God, James, what is it you think you do if pissed off enough? If you so much as write a letter to the editor or phone a representative, you're setting yourself up to be a son of a bitch.

Why should those who have more money have more say than those who do not? Those who are benefiting from the current systems will vote to maintain it, while those who are getting screwed by it will vote to change it. Why is that surprising? And why would that be immoral? No one who is too poor to pay taxes is choosing to be that way. Nobody wants to be poor.

You have so many questions! Here is one of the things I'm starting to understand: Those that have money and power in the US are closer to God. And that is why "... those who have more money have more say than those who do not. Did I get this right?

I wasn't ranting...I disagreed and posted on a forum that is called "debate politics". Message received I'll ignore your posts.

The decline of this nation has been discussed on national radio, a while back...IMO, its a case study of the conservatives taking over and ruining a country with potential.
