That's fair, but it's also a tough violation to call given the quickness and athleticism of the players these days. I am partial to the NBA over college ball because NBA players are obviously more skilled, there are more amazing plays involved, and the general parity of the league is closer than college b-ball, but I can understand why other folks like college ball better.

I do agree though, however, that travelling non-calls are really annoying. Guys like LeBron (takes a million steps when going to the basket) and Kobe (lifts pivot foot before releasing the ball when he drives off of the triple-threat position) get away with it all the time.

Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Kinda ruins the whole game for me.
When I played community ball, traveling was nearly always caught.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

I think coaches these days need to do a better job of teaching kids fundamentals. For a guy like LeBron, sometimes he doesn't even know it when he's travelling.

I think that's because it's generally tolerated so much, that he's incorporated it into his play style.

I would never be hired at ESPN for all the things I say to SB about Lin then. For example, I heard him speak for the first time today and I do not believe he is Asian because he says english like we do and no Engrish.

Unless you've had extensive journalism and sportswriting experience you wouldn't be hired there regardless.

Psh. You forget I am a Boston sports fan. I know all there is to know about sports because we are obnoxious like that.

My question is, do you think it was right to fire the writer, or are we getting too sensitive / PC?
I don't know if that headline is racist or not but it sure is ****ing funny.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

I thought it was both racist and tasteless. If the story covered the feats of a black athlete, and said "XX spearchucks opposition's niggardly performance" I'd say the same thing. Someone obviously thought calling an Asian a "chink" was cute. I, however, did not.
