I think he's probably a pretty tough guy, and no-nonsense. He's kind of like Reagan with a bad reputation. ;)

I dont plan on returning to the same policies that made this economic mess, so I think my votes safe with Obama for now.

He's definitely not as bad as some on the right portray him to be. Then again he's not as great as some on the left portray him to be either. He's an average president, and his longest legacy will probably be the fact that he was America's first black president.

Which policies are you referring to?

The problem with both Bush and Obama is they are both fiscal liberals.
Bush is a social conservative, and Obama is a social liberal, and both were OPM junkies.
They both act the Federal coffers exists only to fund their own political ideologies.
The original phrase on the Continental Dollar was "Mind Your Business"
I have heard it was to keep people focused on their business, and not counting their money.
This is where both dropped the ball.
The President may not have line item veto, but could veto every bill that had undesirable parts.
We need a leader!

In order have a leader you need to be willing to follow. The president has always had the power to veto, its part of the United States government.

Obama has major problems as a leader but he is also facing major problems. Even despite his issues, I think he compares decently to other modern presidents and presidential candidates, and very favorably to the current crop of GOP opponents.

Yes.

  • Obama has the completely wrong way to go about improving healthcare;I would have gone a lot further, completely socializing medicine.
  • Obama fuels the fires of racism and class warfare instead of bringing an end to these social conflicts; Not even the second coming of Jesus Christ can fix this...500 years are required to change man's attitudes.
  • Obama has embarrassed the country abroad with his apology ture and accepting the Nobel Peace Prize knowing he didn't earn it; IMO, its a crime to state opinion as fact....Our nation as been too arrogant too long, this must change !
  • Obama does not support private ownership of arms;I do not blame him!
  • Obama holds that born children are a punishment, not people. this makes no sense !
  • Obama is pro-choice. so???
, so is the majority of people...which seems to mean nothing to conservatives.
  • It's not that Obama is pro-ssm, it's that he doesn't care that half of those SSMs will end in divorce. He's just using people. Not worthy of comment

Of course President Obama is not as bad as the hateful conservatives make him to be..
The problem is one of hate and ignorance..

Right now, Obama.

Obama is not that bad, he's just way over his head and uninspiring and mediocre at best. It's rather telling that 11% of Democrats think he is the best president in US history.

Rather meaningless.
So he is beaten out by Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and both Roosevelts.
People want him to repair the damage done by the conservatives in 3 years...
It took Roosevelt far longer than that.

The only way to fix health care is to make the free riders pay either through taxes or mandated insurance. Pro choice is places liberty above life. SSM is equal protection under the law. So some will end in divorce. Straight marriage ends in divorce too.

Well put; this I agree with.

Which policies are you referring to?
He's probably referring to supply-side economics and neoliberalism.

___________

I also agree with you on Obama not being a Social-Liberal. He's more of a conservative in my opinion, including his economic policies (albeit recently, this is not to say that he wasn't more "left-wing" before).
