So have you changed your political lean since you've been here?

So you've crossed the aisle or changed ideology?

This post I "like", but I do not agree with some aspects. I find the liberal ideologies more palatable, IMO, they are much more intellectual.
I only think that is the case in the US, because american conservatives have scared the intellectuals away.

If you take a look at other countries, you will find intellectuals on both sides. Actually in Sweden you will find that the right attract more intellectuals, and not the left. Even in the US, surveys show that american conservatives are more inteligent than the average liberal. That is because even though the intellectuals vote Democrat, the majority in the Democratic party are not intellectuals.

I also dont dislike all liberals. I dislike the cultural left. I dont mind the economically left if it doesnt turn towards class warfare. They are needed, because the right do not always have the correct answer. For instance, I believe the right in New Zealand should invest more in public transport in Auckland. Since they only care about highways, my vote goes towards Labour. However, the cultural left has been a disaster. There are very few policies the cultural left have got it right, and their stubborness are extremly annoying. They can never admit they were wrong. For instance, Sweden has gone from a country with almost no social problems to have one of the highest rape rates in Europe, and riots every single year. The cultural left still think that immigrants with no education from Somalia benefit Sweden, and everyone who disagree are racist. They dont even dare to debate their opinions, because they got crushed last time they tried.

BTW: I support Labour in local elections, not national elections.

That's right, here's your chance to tell us all how you've changed your ways, seen the light, or whatever that made you jump to the other side because of all this convincing debate you've engaged in. There will only be two choices, so all of you middle-of-the-roaders and two party haters can buzz off for this one.

Probably one of the worst, most self-limiting polls I've seen since my inception here at DP.

Option 3: No, I haven't changed my political ideology. I'm as pro-life/gun/God as ever.

My lean hasn't changed at all towards either side. I still think that there is good and bad in both the liberal and conservative stances.

It's politics, nothing is clean or pure. Everyone's hands are dirty....some dirtier than others, but no one is innocent, not even independents.

You're talking about the morals and characters of people which has nothing to do with being a liberal, conservative, or an independent as they are political stances. A political stance in itself is neither clean, pure, or dirty.

The Republican Party shifting from economic conservatism to theocracy has caused me to shift from Republican to Democrat. The Republicans now just so increasingly condemn my children, my family, too many people I know and myself to possibly be able to vote for them.
