    Bargain With Iran

Simply put, if Iran offered to end their nuclear program if we dismantled some of our nuclear weapons, would you take the offer?

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully. Psalm 24

    Of course not.

This issue has much less to do with Iran developing a nuclear arsenal than it does with Iran wanting to take down the petrodollar and destroy our economy.

In fact, the only reason Iran wants to build a nuclear arsenal in the first place is so they can use it as leverage in their attempt to take down the petrodollar.

    Get it now?

    sure.

assuming of course that Iran allowed full random inspection of any and all facilities suspected of being engaged in nuclear activities, with the understanding that failure to comply would result in the immediate application of bunker-busting JDAMs to that facility.

....which Iran will never agree to. remember, Iran does not recognize the validity of the position that she shouldn't have a nuclear program and be regional hegemon. that whole ability to recognize that the other side has some good points? yeah - their culture doesn't really emphasize that, and their government doesn't have it at all. There is ultimately only one argument they will actually accept:

    1. stop your nuclear development
    2. or we will blast you to smithereens

    No. For two reasons...

Iran has showed no reason to believe that it would honestly and in a forthright manner cooperate with some kind of inspection program to assure that their nuclear program has actually ceased. And, second, once we dismantle our weapons they're dismantled. Done, end of story. If it then comes out that Iran didn't live up to their end of the bargain...then all we did was essentially dismantle some of our nukes for nothing.

No I would not support such a deal.

1.Iran can not be trusted to dismantle their nukes. So it would us getting rid of some nukes for nothing.
2.It would be extremely hypocritical for our government to tell other countries that they can't have nukes while the US government can.

Personally I would like to see every nuclear weapon on the planet disappear as well as the means and blue prints or plans to make nuclear bombs disappear. But at the same time I am not naive or stupid. No country in the world is stupid enough to trust the other country to get rid of their nuclear weapons.Removing your all your nukes would put you at the mercy of countries that do have nukes.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

That's ridiculous. Oil is bought and sold in other currencies.. the Petro Dollar is a benchmark.

And, Iran doesn't sell a great deal of oil... most of it goes to Europe and Asia..

Iran's oil production is about 3.4 million bpd per day.. and only half of that is exported.

"Some" of our nuclear weapons? Sure I'd make the deal. Dismantle 10 nukes and we've fulfilled our part of the bargain...never mind that we still have hundreds more or can make more.

We have too many nukes. We should dismantle some now just to control costs. and do it w/o a deal w/ Iran. Iran is playing games with this. Ask Iran to propose how many before this is taken seriously.
