that map is all kinds of inaccurate. Turkey and Pakistan are the wrong color, and Iraq should properly be striped.

Iran is indeed pursuing nukes. when even the UN and the Euro's admit that diplomacy has failed to stop them, diplomacy has failed.

If they could be trusted? Absolutely, we have more nukes than we need anyway so the gain is entirely in our favor. Problem is they can't be trusted.

Do you think they're going to give up their only chance to have real deterrence against invasion?

Don't kid yourself about bargaining. The U.S. wants to get in there before the deterrence is realized. The business contracts and resource control it would grant our country would be unparallelled. With the completion of the trans middle eastern pipeline system, under the control of the U.S., we would be able to challenge OPEC and reduce our own oil prices in the process.

Any attempt to bargain with Iran will be done to save face. They are the missing puzzle piece. It's just a matter of time before we invade. I'm not commenting on whether this is a good or bad thing, but the reality of the situation.

If anything, I would say that this reflects the supreme power of our business sector to control both American and world economy. They are literally reshaping nations, often by force, in order to apply their economic hegemony to new parts of the world. I find it scary.
Iran does have to deal with a large American presence around itself, but that map is so stupidly inaccurate and wrong the last time I saw it used was in the conspiracy theories section

and basically in switching from the gold standard to the petro dollar and debt to maintain value, the united states and most major countries started a large ponzi scheme that will fail.war with iraq and dealing with iran is nothing more than hanging on to that scheme even longer.this is also why rich people like to invest in gold,if china dumps all our debt and all countries dropped the dollar for trading, the rich would still have precious metals while everyone else would have to keep a currency thats only worth the paper its printed on.for this reason the united states has a large gold reserve just incase the dollar fails, but that gold standard wouldnt be worth as much to the country in whole as inflated printable money.

Sanctions are not diplomacy. Ending trade is an act of hostility, not peace.

i could argue this point all day but simply spending ten minutes on google will give you plenty of pages to read on the subject from many different sources.

Done!!! We've got thousands Israel has hundreds. We could get rid of some and still have enough to effectively destroy the planet.

This is a meaningless poll. There is no reason why the US would need to bargain with Iran on nukes. Iran signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, they are under obligation already. No one needs to bargain with them over what they already agreed to do.

Because that is working so well, right?

The point of signing an agreement is that if you fail to live up to the agreement you will be punished.
