Everyone benefits from that outsourcing through lower prices. And, last I checked, the manufacturing sector is actually quite strong in this country, despite the constant rhetoric surrounding its decline. We make stuff that help people make stuff, which is the best stuff to make!

I do not think he is a "good" man, depending, of course,on a man's definition of "good".
But then, he is supposedly a "conservative", so being "good" is difficult.
An appropiate question, "has Newt the temperment to be President?"
    Does any teabagger/conservative ??

No wonder he's one of the leading republican candidates.

I was just really curious, because I haven't seen this question addressed seriously before, though I admit I haven't been on DP very much this election season.
No, I do not think he is a good person at all. But, I don't think he is an evil person either. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being evil and 10 being good, I'd rate him about a 2.5 or 3.

IMO, the ONLY reason he is so "honest" and forthcoming is because his transgressions over the years are so many, and so glaring, and so indisputable, that he has no choice but to try and be "honest" as a strategy of damage control.

I think that very, very very few politicians are actually good people.

The only person currently running for, or occupying the office of, Prez, who qualifies as a "good person" is Ron Paul.... and I disagree with him a lot of things, but at least he's honest.

People who want to run things are rarely good people.

I don't tend to characterize people as good or bad. However, I think he has a lot of negative, untrustworthy traits and I wouldn't trust him in any situation at anytime. I also think it's ridiculous that people actually believe he is sorry for his actions and has repented or whatever. I think those peoples' gullibility makes me more nervous than he does.

Not if you lose your job and as a result have to take a lower paying job.Outsourcing also encourages every manufacturer to cut corners thus making their stuff even more crappier.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I don't necessarily agree. I believe that the vast majority of people who get into politics actually have honest intent in the beginning and want to improve things. But, that the process slowly wears them down and the power corrupts them slowly over time. I'm not even sure they see it coming as clearly as others do.

As far as Ron Paul, I believe the whole "racist newsletter issue", and denial regarding said newsletters, is his dishonesty showing through.
