Shoot Your President? Shooter Your Child?

This is an age old question, perhaps brought about by Plato's Republic. The all important question of family before country or country before family? Plato saw it as the family cannot be had by the rulers because the rulers could not make a decision based upon protecting their family first. He understood that the dynamic would be protect the family first. My question is...do you choose the life of a loved one? Or the life of the President of whatever nation you belong?

Oh, for heaven's sake. That's an age-old question?! It's family before anyone or anything. Period.

Presidents are replaceable. My loved ones are not.

Since children do not destroy nations, while spinning it that they are helping nations, I would say that children are more valuable than presidents. Save the children, and give a big middle finger to the presidents.

It would depend on who the "family" is. There are many, many members of my family I have not met, and others who I know well but who are disgusting, worthless idiots. If one of them were equally at risk at the same time as my president I think I'd throw the life saver to the president. If, on the other hand, it were one of the family members or dear friends who means anything at all to me, they're getting my undivided attention and consideration in a life-or-death scenario.

    We have a vice-President for a reason.

Have multiple children for a reason, too. What's the old saying... "an heir and a spare"?

I have no children but I do have plenty of people I love. I will never love a president, a queen, king or prime minister. Even if the president were someone I admire above all other statesmen/women, even if it were Nelson Mandela, I would choose the person I love. Love conquers all, don't they say?

I would save my loved ones over the president. I wouldn't solely define this as family though because we all have those family members we don't really like or desire a relationship with, yet there are friends that are close to us like siblings. I would save my close friends over my uncle that I don't really care for, but that's just me.
