    The Dropout Pool

Now that Perry has exited stage left, who do you will be the next GOP candidate to drop out of the race?

Santorum. His social conservative stances may be in line with a large population in the Republican Party, but that is not the priority of the people at the moment. The people are currently more concerned with economics.

Sorry I messed up and didn't add the poll. Had to figure out how to do it.

I chose Paul. I think he's made his point in the debates and it looks like his numbers are only going to drop from here on.

That's a reason that he won't be the GOP nominee, but that isn't a reason why he will be the next to drop out. He says what the evangelicals want to hear, so he will be bankrolled for a while, which is the real name of the game.

My vote goes for Roemer. No name recognition, no traction...no money.

If this thing ABC has is as bad as it sounds, Gingrich might be the next to drop out.

If so many of Newt's peccadilloes hadn't been out in the open for the last several years, yes, I think this would tank him in a few days. But we are talking Newt. Any other typical politician with his baggage, would never have run in the first place. He'll try to ride it out.

Given that line of thought, I'm going with Santorum as the next to drop out. His money will dry up and Newt has enough to out last him. Paul has enough money to keep him going for a long while.

I don't attack my constituents. Bob is my constituent now.
This is the important stuff. We can’t get lost in discrimination. We can’t get lost in B.S. We can’t get lost tearing each other down. I want to make a point here that no matter what you look like, where you come from, how you worship, who you love, how you identify, and yeah, how you run, that if you have good public policy ideas, if you are well qualified for office, bring those ideas to the table, because this is your America, too. This is our commonwealth of Virginia, too.

RCP actually shows a steady increase in the polls for Paul in SC over the last week...and that was before Perry dropped.

My guess is that if someone does indeed drop out, it's gonna be Santorum. But there's a chance it could also be Gingrich.

Rick will drop out and pledge his support to Gingrich.

He's still a distant third, battling with Santorum for Miss Congeniality. I would guess that Perry's exist will help Gingrich and Santorum more than Paul. He only polled at about 5%, anyway.
