If Reagan was alive, and running against Obama, who would you vote for?

Yeah, I'd probably vote for Reagan again, I voted for him back in the day, but knowing what I know now about what Reagan would do, it would be, as usual, a vote for the lesser of the two evils. We need someone in office who is going to cut spending and I don't see either candidate being capable of that.
 
If Reagan were running, he would need an awfully good makeup artist to appear telegenic.

Most voters reject rigor mortis in their candidate as well, (heck -- just look at Kerry) so that might also be a stumbling block.
 
I would write in Stephen Colbert. Although, that is who I am voting for anyways, so meh.
 
Depends. Does he come back to life? Hands down. Does he stay dead? ... Probably.

Vote for someone who gave amnesty to 3 million illegals resulting in the 12-20 million we have today and the same man who signed the so called gun owners protection act that gave libs the go ahead to force people to go through a back ground check for a right that says no infringements and basically drove up the price of machine guns made before 1986? **** no. I wouldn't vote for either one.

I was under the impression conservatives were for the 2nd amendment and against illegal immigration and that socialist are against the 2nd amendment and for illegal immigration.

Some people seek ideal candidates. The reality is that whether one takes FDR or Reagan from opposite sides of the ideological spectrum, each man had some policies that idealists or purists would find unacceptable. Yet, each man proved to be a highly effective leader in achieving many of his major goals. Hence, for most liberals, FDR is an icon and for most conservatives Reagan is an icon. From the perspective of leadership, both Presidents were great in that they translated vision and a capacity to align public support into getting things done in pursuit of their vision.

Well, Hell, if we're going to just sit here naming Presidents we would turn into undead abominations, I'm voting for Teddy Roosevelt. He doesn't even need to take office; Zombie Teddy Roosevelt could eat what's left America and **** a better country than what we're turning into. That's change I can believe in!

Not even close. The GOP of today is so far to the extreme right-wing, they wouldn't even recognize a Ronald Reagan.

Because there was no completely accurate statement.

For it to be accurate we'd either need to assume that the political climate and makeup of the 1980's is similar or exactly like it is today...or that Reagan would act the exact same way today as he did in the 1980's despite the extremely different political climate and makeup.

It'd be akin to saying that Thomas Jefferson would push to reinstate Slavery if he was running for office today
 
Also, I'd vote Reagan over Obama but I'd vote Zombie Teddy over anyone because if I didn't Zombie Teddy would devour my soul.
