Islamic terrorists versus average Muslims -- how do they compare?

Edit....
To the mods:
I realized I worded my title ambiguously. Is there a way to change my title to "How do average Muslims view Islamic terrorists?"

what a stupid poll...jog on

I would hope # 1, but I don't know any muslims, nor terrorists.

You posted that before I even had the poll finished.

didnt need to see the Poll knew from the thread title it was stupid. Its like asking how does a normal human being and a murderer compare! Its the sort of question that does not need to be asked but by asking it you are igniting hate

Rubbish. There's a choice that says average Muslims can't stand terrorists any more than anyone else, but you didn't bother to wait to see that part.

thats not the point by asking the question you are creating the link. The question does not need to be asked because the answer is so bloody obvious.

Yes, it does. I have numerous friends in Indonesia who are Muslim and who look down on terrorists just as much as any American. However, I hear all the time from Americans equating Muslims in general with terrorists, and it makes me mad. I have an uncle who over Christmas was talking about patriotism and how it was supposedly patriotic to (and I quote) "shoot Muslims." That's the reason for the poll. Plenty of Americans seem to think Muslims are our enemy when the truth is we have a common enemy in the terrorists.

You should admit you saw a title you didn't like, prejudged it, and didn't bother to wait for the poll to be completed. You should at least wait for a poll to be finished before commenting.

I find that precious few have an accurate notion of what Muslims believe. This is true for those who routinely bash them, but as much, or even more true for those who offer little but knee jerk defense, for even as Muslim belief is not monolithic nor universally supportive of terrorism, there is still much that is troublesome. Take, for instance, the majority that refuses to believe that Arabs carried out 911 or the extreme degree to which Muslims despise and persecute Jews. Antisemitic attitudes run over 99% in some Muslim countries.

I would think people of all political stripes would be well advised to investigate the various Pew reports when it comes to Muslim attitudes. There is so much ignorant b.s. being thrown around by people who haven't the foggiest idea what they are talking about, and base their opinions on little more than their imagination that it is difficult to even know where to begin.

From your link,

The table suggests Muslim opinion on 'the struggle between Modernizers and Islamic fundamentalists' that very few Muslims, in percentage terms (highest 13% lowest 6%), identify with the fundamentalists, a good indicator.

Who the hell voted for the last two options?

I just don't see the point in the poll! Most educated sane people know that most muslims look down on terrorism and when you put a poll up leaving this open to discussion and setting up people to come in and attack Muslims. It would be like me putting a poll up saying "what do normal preists think about their fellow preists touching up the altar boys"? The questions has an obvious answer and does not need to be asked.

Seeing how the majority of victims of Islamic terrorists are Muslims I would have to pick the first option in the poll. But I am jut making a guess.

and yeh I pre judged your thread title because it read " how do "normal" muslims compare to terrorists"? Lol anyone is going to pre-judge that title because its horrible

The last one is how my uncle would have voted, hence the reason for this poll. I found a video by Queen Rania of Jordan that's very good.

No, everyone didn't prejudge it. Just you. In the future, perhaps you'll find it more wise to wait until the questions are actually up.

if the title was fine you would not of asked the Mods to change it for you! Maybe in the future you could actually come up with a thread name that doesnt offend people.
