Look on the bright side.

When we have our military fight in the middle east, oil profits can pay for the war.

So you are counting on big oil to bail the US out of debt??? That's your plan??? :lamo:lamo:lamo

I don't get the **** why so many US citizens complaing about their nation maintaing an international military presense around the world. The Pros for maintaining such a presense, which many hippies and socialists in this thread has conveniently ignored:
1) Economic benefits: Sure, maintaining, sustaining, supplying those bases cost hundreds of billions of dollars. Yet think of the economic benefits. You boost the defense sector. You help allies, making the possibility of favorable trade more likely. You can guard vital economic resources overseas such as canals, oilfields, etc..., which not only help keep your country economically afloat, but also keeps the world economy stable. While it may cost hundreds of billions, the return profit is more than double that
2) Diplomatic benefits: You of course, get more allies, more economic benefits from their natural resources, economy, and trade. You get a greater standing in the international world, and proved your military might, making your country less vulnerable to attack or exploitation
There are countless other benefits, including military, political, and various other benefits. Frankly, I don't get the **** why people whine so much about it

It probably has something to do with our 15 trillion dollar debt and the need to cut senior's programs to continue paying for it.

easy enough answer (though complex in nature): the West has become degenerate and is now in the "suicide" phase.

Stopped taking you seriously right about there.

I wouldn't want to name names, but you know you have plenty enough socialists and hippies around here, and this is coming from an avidly social liberal.
Many posters have their username contain the word Socialist

Understood, but not all individuals who want less military involvement in foreign affairs are hippies and socialists.
