Then why is Gingrich whining about Romney's money?

I have no idea why he's doing that. That's a really good point. He has made some statements that stink of socialism... or at least nutty leftism.

IMO, Conservatives are "traditional" - for all the good and bad that this contains...
IMO, conservatism means an un-willingness to think and reason, but to just refer to the "old scrap of paper", our Constitution.
IMO, conservative means a narrow view, the wealthy (elitism).
Conservatives are necessary to "brake" or retard the progress of the Liberals or Progressives..
A man never knows...maybe our people are not ready for "Affordable Health Care", and a conservative repeal may well prevail..
America the Beautiful
......but.....not
America the Advanced

It is not conservatives who engage in class war. Conservatives are more likely to treat people as individuals, and not as members of any group. It is liberals who pit the races and classes against each other.

The last 30 years of supply side economics and deregulation has been a class war that is killing the middle class and threatening senior's programs. When we fight back you say it is us waging the class war. Is the middle class no longer allowed to stand up for itself???

the last 70 years of government handouts, progressive taxes which allow the middle class more government without paying for it has created an America that has millions of entitlement addicts and a raging deficit

The middle class is getting more entitlements because 30 years of supply side economics has most of the wealth going to the top. 50% of the country average an annual income of $15,800 under supply side economics. Is that what you consider high on the hog???

MOre complete crap. the middle class get more entitlements because the middle class has the most votes and politicians buy their votes with the money of the rich by giving the middle class more handouts

I read this and my head went "freedom fries". I don't know why. It just did.
No surprise here. Don't most liberals think about stuffing their faces when confronted with moral values? ;)

Traditionalism, restrictive social values, non-secular.

I do not perceive modern Conservatives as being about small government, fiscal restraint or constitutionalism. It's mainly conservative Libertarians and moderates who represent that now. Mainstream Conservativism is responsible for some of the most horrendous expansions of government, poor economic planning, and waste of money in our time.

Not likely to buy into someone's bull****; puts thought into what they accept and what they reject.

...and that's all you need to know about liberals.

You know though, Lincoln referred to the Founding Fathers as "those Old Men." However, when you read Abraham Lincoln's statement it is filled with terms of endearment. When you just read the poster's thoughts it merely inspires the gag reflex.

$15,800 is too much for half the country to live on? How much do you think it takes to provide food, and housing, and health insurance and transportation for a job, and provide for a family? The average taxpayer making a million dollars and up gets ten times that amount just in tax cuts.

You think the middle class standards are too high since they have gotten poorer at the same time the income for the wealthy has quadrupled?

What you will learn in November is that you can only spit in people's faces so long before they fight back.

We have NOT had supply side economics these last 30 years. We have more regulations now than at any other time in our history. We could use a little deregulation.

My first association with the term in general is "tradition" and "hierarchy", next comes "elitism". Also, the unfortunate association with German revisionists, because most real German conservatives are revisionists. There are not many of them left, but most are rather weird and grumpy fellows.

When I hear/read the term in English, I think of American Republicans, and it's arguable how much this party, its members and supporters are actually "conservative" when it comes to their philosophy.

Where is the regulation we had for 50 years that separated investment banks from commercial banks so that we didn't have banks too big to fail???

Where is the regulation that prevented commodity speculators from running up prices to increase their personal wealth???

Where are the regulations that prevented unlimited donations to political candidates???

Supply side economic and deregulation for the last 30 years is what brought us to where we are today. Who would be stupid enough to allow it to be continued?

I might have respected the tea party, if they had a hissy fit during Bush's big spending spree.
It took the bigger spending spree of Barack Obama: A President Bush on steroids. We can take only so much spending before we have no choice but to act.
