Reagan - very rarely was his middle name used. Only after he was out of office and then rarely still. Clinton however had his middle name used and as I recall was proud of it being used, Nixon not sure. Only time I saw it was during his funeral, and I think on a book or two. George Herbert Walker Bush more often used to differentiate between his son George Walker Bush, but while he was in office it was just President Bush. The difference is, no one cared then or now about any of those other Presidents. They only care about the current President.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Formally, perhaps. I just don't see the same fascination with the middle name of a man someone disagrees with. Except for Romney, who's middle name is Mitt.

If you want to see Obama negatively, there's more than enough reason for that. His middle name is not an issue.

You have two errors above. First is that I am a conservative and I never use Hussein. Normally, when I am not lazy, I say President Obama, due to the lack of respect for conservatives here, I have shortened it to Obama. Second, it is a fact that other Presidents have had their middle name used. I am sure that some use Obama's middle name to goad liberals and some may be even insinuating that Obama is a Muslim who is attempting to destroy the United States. I don't believe he is a Muslim, but I am also not sure what he is.

There may be a few that are racially motivated, but I doubt many. It is immature, but I'll come back to this in a second. Yes, we conservatives find him far too liberal. Many conservatives find his policies and that of many Dems in Congress to be foreign to what they know has been the history of the U.S. I believe Obama was born in Hawaii. His name is probably Muslim based, but so what?

Now, about that immaturity. It is rampant on this and probably all debating sites. Unless, you are blind, you will easily see that it happens on all sides of the political aisle. If you don't believe me, I will gladly show you where liberals are immature as anyone on this site. I can show you the same from conservatives. Who did it first? Who cares? I have grown tired of some of the threads that liberals have started or highjacked and I have a habit of goading the liberals on those threads. They say that all the GOP candidates are all crazy or stupid or whatever their peeve is. I respond by bashing Dems or Obama. I try not to start it, but I will provide Hell if they wish to persist. In the meantime, I am having fun.

Probably is. It will probably not stop just as I bet the immature behavior by liberals won't either. Do you have a solution to this?

Perhaps because no other president's name middle name is used in such a derogatory fashion, along with calling him Barry Soetero. I dunno if that's what happened in this case, but there's a systematic trend of critics emphasizing his middle name as if to say OMGZORZ HE'S MUSLIM/KENYAN/ALIEN/NOT AMERICAN.

I am not say most or even many did, but their middle names were used.

I'd give him a C-. He's done a piss-poor job overall, but he did get DADT repealed. OTOH, I would give George W. Bush a D-. The Patriot Act and illegal pre-emptive war on Iraq would have been an automatic F, except the OP had to add that stupid "The worst traitor, blah blah blah."

Edit: Ah, never mind. I foolishly answered the OP's question, but the thread has already been hijacked into a discussion of presidential middle names. My bad.

To be honest, he didn't even play a particularly large role in that. That was mainly Congress and the courts' doing.

Like I said before, the President is like the quarterback. When outcomes go wrong, he gets all the blame (whether or not he is actually to blame or not). When a few things go right, we attribute the good things to him.

The war in Iraq was not done illegally. Congress gave him the OK to proceed. Syria however was/is illegal since Congress never gave Obama the OK. The only reason that Obama was able to continue in Syria is because he's not calling it a war because "We don't have soldier on the ground".

Patriot Act + Obamacare = same in my book.

I will give Obama DADT though.

Edit note: Sorry folks I mean Lybia...NOT syria. :P *smacks self on head and says "BAD BRAIN BAD!"*

I just find it funny that conservatives like to throw Baracks middle name (Huessin) around like some scare tactic.

Just to clarify Kal, I think you meant Libya.
