No life will not improve for the North Koreans. Those in power in that country are living high of the hog, they are not going to give that up.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

There is a lot of uncertainity now. South Korean military is on high alert now. China has sent 2000 additional troops to its border with N. Korea to prevent the influx of refugees.

It's just one less mouth to feed. Their policies will remain, probably get even tougher since sonny-boy hasn't a clue about anything and he'll be running scared.

Life in NK could only improve if the people were to gain any understanding of their situation.

The guy was a figurehead. I am sure the military juanta will place his son at the alter or provide the peasantry with another personal Jesus of equal or greater value. And they will embrace it.

I hope so ... yet from all reports including (foreign and domestic) it sounds as though his heir is fully indoctrinated.
