Some people think a rape victim should have no right to take the morning after pill to prevent her from having to carry for 9 months the child of her rapist and forever change her body. The reasoning is that a zygote has received a magical thing from God known as a soul and that terminating that tiny collection of cells is the same thing as unloading an AK-47 into a living and breathing human being's brain.

Vote on whether you think a zygote's rights should take precedence over those of a rape victim. Jesus loves the little zygotes.

I wont vote on this because the wording and the vote is one sided

Luna, do try to make your polls a little bit less emotional. We already have a zealously religious crowd screaming about how pro-choicers support killing children.

I get emotional over rape victim rights and have reason to be.

That's great for you but your attempt to monopolize the emotional market by making a one sided poll makes you come off as dishonest and conveys the idea that you're not really looking for a debate. In essence, this poll and the way it is worded is a fine example of low quality trolling.

I think it's accurate. Some people really do support zygote rights over those of a rape victim.

I have to agree that the thread/poll don't imply a willingness to discuss or interest in the outcome. If you have a strong feeling to express, that's fine and understandable, but it's not really the poll you are interested in with answers like that. I would suggest labeling it a rant and just throwing your feelings out there or, if you want the discussion, rephrase a bit.

Btw, I wouldn't mind actual discussion. I've always been a bit torn on abortion related stuff.

That's great for you. It's still trolling. Example you wouldn't start a debate with: "For those who don't agree with current spousal abuse laws, is it because you support beating your spouses?". Would you? Of course not. You are attempting to misrepresent the position of pro-lifers by using wording meant to give one side dominance over emotional real estate.

I've redone the poll. See the link to it in my post above.

Saw it just a little too late. Already did a quick post there.

Neither one is a good choice.

It must be remembered, at all times, that we are imperfect beings in an imperfect word.
So- the "morning after" pill is a great idea.
And the religious and the church must stay out of this !
We do need to improve our society in order to have few and then no rapists.

IMO, the extremists care more about their personal little agenda than they do about their fellow humans..
This imbalance is NOT how one goes about in the making of a "perfect" world.

I don't believe a zygote has any rights, so the question is meaningless. The poll answers listed are distorted and partisan though, and should be changed.
