I have zero sympathy for corrupt public officials. I can't vote in this poll because I think the sentence was too lenient. Blago deserved the max.

I've got no compassion for Blago whatsoever, and the sentence is more than fair. While he might not have been a danger to others, physically, he was a danger to Democracy, and so deserves the harsh sentence he got.

He just kept digging his hole deeper. If he would have been humble and contrite he would have probably gotten a lot less. He just didn't get it just like a lot of politicians. He got what he deserved.

He didn't do it all by himself. He had help and it's just a shame that he's taking the fall for the rest of them.

This clown didn't dream all this up on his own.

I doubt it, but yeah I couldn't stand his face being on TV acting like he was all innocent and ****, laughing with the girls on the view and all that crap.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

I laugh because it isn't all that difficult to dream up the things he did.

14 years...was that it? Guess he has to spend some time in the Illinois Ex-Governor wing of the prison.

He certainly wasn't alone. The entire history of the uttely corrupt democrat party in IL gave him every indication the rules didn't apply to him.

Can anyone tell me why Jesse Jackson Jr. isn't being fitted for an orange jumpsuit? I hope Blago can spill the beans on BO and Rahm before he is "off'ed" in prison.

Re: Was Blagojevich's sentence too harsh?

based on what other criminals get it was too severe but I cannot get too upset with Blowjobabitch doing 14 years.

I think his sentence was enhanced due to the judge believing he lied his ass off on the witness stand
