Well this isn't exactly dudes trying to be like girls. There's a law in MA that states girls and boys must have equal access to sports (guess which side of the isle that one came out of), there are schools that do not have boys swim teams because there are not enough boys to make a team. As such, they join the girls team. That's the situation.

If you're ok with girls playing on guys teams, then you must be ok with this. It's all "fair", yes?

I don't see anyone disputing that.

Ironically, there's a good chance that the boys can't have a team because of the Title 9 quota. This used to happen at my high school all the time.

But women have a higher threshold for pain. So, if/when torture becomes an olympic event, it will be the men teeing off closer to the green.

I put "it depends on the sport" because, well, it does.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Im ok with either nor am I adamantly against it....I have 5 daughters and none of them played sports with the boys and all of them have grown up to be successful women...that do not take a backseat to anyone.
I think boys should be on boys teams and girls on girls for most sports...tennis...volleyball...no contact sports fine..or like diahana put it no in sports where males have a exceptional physical advantage.

As true as this may be, this is the law. They said equal access. Now mostly its for the people who want to get girls involved in the boys teams and do their little song and dance about being fair. Those same people are likely against boys being in girls leagues. For it is as you and others have said; boys have a physical advantage over girls. But this is what they wanted, this is unintended consequence they must bear.

men have huge advantages in volleyball (leaping ability) and tennis. That is why Jimmy Evert-a good HS player never lost to his sister-who was the world #1 and on everyone's list of top ten greatest women's tennis players in history

sports where there are no gender advantages

    Olympic Dressage (equestrian)

rifle shooting (Colonel Margaret Murdock tied Lanny Basham in 3 position rifle in the 76 games-he won on a tiebreak) and there are several women who routinely win the long range rifle tournaments. (Nancy Tompkins and her daughters for example

Skeet shooting-a Chinese woman won the Open competition at the 88 games

of racquet sports, table tennis,-top women can hang with all but the very best men-unlike tennis or say squash where a good college male player will destroy Nicole David (current women's world #1). The boy who wins a big state's HS championship will beat the top women pros in tennis

in archery, women are shooting scores comparable to men at the Olympic distances when there is no wind when its windy-men-who pull around 46-52 pounds have an advantage over women pulling usually around 37 pounds

    Interesting...

Personally, I think all competitions and placement tests should be based on merit, regardless of gender.

Instead of a gender-divided competition, have an ability-divided competition.

So in this case, the girls and boys that clocked the X:XX to X:XX 100m swim compete against other girls and boys of like ability.

And the slower swimmers compete against their like.

Of course the fastest will still be the fastest, and the most enduring the most enduring.

Apply the general idea as needed.

They make them for girls? This is good to know - my kids are all in karate. Not sparring yet but soon we'll be there.
