Is This Ad Dishonest or Does It Cross The Line.

In the ad, Obama is quoted as saying "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose", but his full quote is this: "Sen. McCain's campaign actually said, and I quote, ‘If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose.’" However, it does say 23 seconds earlier that the comments where from 2008. So, is this ad accurately portraying what Obama said, it is dishonest, and if it is dishonest, does this cross a line beyond the normal dishonest political ad(yes, I know that is kinda vague, it is up to you to judge how to interpret it).

A "spelling/grammer nazxi" by any other name is still a spelling/grammar nazi.

The truly amazing thing is that so far, from what I've heard (NPR and MSNBC), they're sticking by it. They were at one point, anyway.

It's dishonest, but what can anyone really do about it?
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
