I wouldn't have bailed any of them out. I'm an environmentalist and wouldn't have favored the Solyndra deal. It's just that he is 50 times more honest than a generic Republican, think GWSnotForBrains, Darth Cheney, etc. We have a den of thieves inside the Beltway and a good flush would do that toilet some good, but Republicans would plug it up.

Seriously? He laundered $535 million in taxpayer dollars to one of his top supporters through Solyndra. How do you get more dishonest than that?

Gary Johnson - I'm projecting, of course.

or Vergil Goode - another projection.

Screw the Democratic and Republican Party (sorry if that offends). They've held this country in their sway for countless years and have messed it all up. We just go back and forth - back and forth between the two. Obviously they've proven their selves incapable of getting the job done or changing anything. In fact - the longer they're in the worse off we are. It's November and they haven't figured out the budget YET.

But likely it'll be Ron Paul - he's the only third party who has a good chance at winning because he's always involved in debates and doesn't get the cold shoulder - has a relatively large support base in consideration.

I don't feel I have to continue to be part of the problem when I vote - If more people felt like I did maybe we could actually make a strong difference in how this country functions.

i would like to see this poll done again when the primary is over and we have had a few debates to watch on tv between obama and who ever!

i would put money that the poll would not show the same results.

its easy to poll good against no one in particular, but when there is a face and the two start going at it, thats when people really start to make up their mind

I've thought for a while that....

If moderate Mitt is running, he will probably be best suited to end the stupid fundamentalist gridlock in D.C. So I might vote for him.

If pandering conservative Mitt is running, I can't vote for him.

But the more I think about it, the more I think a strong, moderate Mitt would only allow more radical conservatives into Congress, riding on his coattails, who Mitt probably won't be able to control, because he has no real conservative cred. So I'm not sure I see much benefit in voting for him.

Re: If the election was today who would you vote for

This poll has little practical use in regards to the election. I will say however it has an interesting use in regards to the forum population itself. I believe in previous years elections the membership has been more heavily Conservative than Liberal in regards to the most active posters. However, the poll is kind of bucking what my anecdotal impression of recent months has been which is that we've seen a significant influx of liberal posters and liberal poster activity and a downswing in regards to our conservative constituency.

    1. You said "If Romney wins then I will vote for a 3rd party candidate"...why? Do you hate Mormons? Do you think he would be worse than Obama?
    2. Simply not voting would confirm Obama for another term by default, so that is a fools errand.
    3. Third party voting only worked once in this country for president. It won't do anything other than assure Obama another term in office and I can't see any thinking individual willing to put up with that.
