    Probably.

Candidates who might appeal... i.e.: Huntsman, etc... to the average swing voter (read: the people who will actually decide the states that will decide the general election) have pretty much zero chance of getting nominated. It will be more of a default selection, though I'm sure it will be spun as an affirmation.

Obama will win, because the only possible candidates that have any chance of winning a good portion of Democrats & Independents, have a poor chance of getting the GOP nomination let alone winning a good portion of their votes in November.

so basically, Obama will not really win.....the GOP candidate is going to lose.

Nope. The American public are sick and tired of his empty rhetoric and absolutely worthless economic policies. Candidly, I think the polls are overstating his approval rating. I think a lot of white guilt is baked into those numbers and may overstate his weak 45% figure by at least 5% to 10%. I am also convinced BO will not draw the record number of blacks and youth to the polls next year like he did when he was the unknown new kid on the block in 2008. The ONLY thing that could improve his chances would be a totally unexpected major improvement in the economy......nobody is forecasting that to happen.

Oh yeah, one more factor to consider ..... all those pesky conservatives and Tea Party folks are going to show up at the voting stations like a tsunami wave in 2012.

Most of those people are rabid about politics already and vote regardless any other considerations. I don't see much difference there. It's the more moderate and independent voters who need to be swayed one way or another. They will decide. And they will most likely not be presented with a viable (to them) option.

To vote for pseudo-liberal, flip flopping, universal healthcare passing, "guy who laid you off" looking, Mormon Romney?

Maybe not in the droves you expect.

There is no Republican who would get MY vote this election, as two Supreme Court seats are up.

I imagine this is why the right is pulling out all the stops and spending whatever it takes to win.

Where is the race baiting? Is that all you have? He made a perfectly legitimate point and here you are being insulting in a thread where you are asking posters if Obama will be re-elected or not and why or why not. Sweet.

I don't consider race to be a serious part of this discussion, and I think its merely used to derail from the legitimate conversation. You are welcome to disagree.
