Are there any hypocrites out there?

I don't, it's a poll.

Whether this is a poll or not? Nope, still not sure....

Re: Do You Really Mean It When You Recite The Pledge Of Allegiance “With liberty and.

I believe in (most) of the ideas expressed by the pledge, but when I said it in school, I didn't "mean" it because 1) I was a teenager/pre-teen/etc. who wasn't particularly conscious of anything beyond my own desires. 2) I was just reciting something I had memorized.

Do I believe the nation is under God? I don't think God has a nationality. Do I believe in what the republic stands for as expressed in the Constitution? Yes. Do I believe the country is indivisible? Uh, no. Do I believe in liberty and justice for all? Yes.

Re: Do You Really Mean It When You Recite The Pledge Of Allegiance “With liberty and.

As do I... though sometimes I question whether anybody else does. :(
A lot of people don't.

Re: Do You Really Mean It When You Recite The Pledge Of Allegiance “With liberty and.

When I recite the pledge I always speak the truth....I change the words to "with liberty and justice for some", because this country has never stood for liberty and justice for ALL. Until it does I refuse to pretend and recite the false pretense.

I don't care what you think. This poll is not about me, keep this crap up and you will be reported for sure.

I'm a member of several fraternal organizations and we begin meetings reciting the pledge. I always feel hypocritical when I say "with liberty and justice for all" because of our International behaviour as a Nation.

I do not really recite the pledge, but all deserve liberty and justice.

Always been a fan of the pledge. Was confused about where the "vote" was. Are you just keeping track in your head....??

Not to mention we fine and lock up more of our own citizens for such trivial bullsh!t in this nation than any other first world country or even third world country on this planet. Justice for all as long as you can buy your way out.

I make it easy, I don't pledge allegiance to anything. It's anti-American.

The nation is not under god and our atheist founders would be offended if they knew we put god in our currency and forced our children to make pledges to god against their will.

Yes it is. Couldn't agree more.

Never said it in school. My folks were Jehovah's Witnesses and forbade me to do so.

Doubtful that the Founding Fathers would be offended by the reference to God on our currency.

(No clue who our "atheist founders" were....???)

Ben franklin was an atheist and thomas jefferson was a deist.

Ben franklin was an atheist and thomas jefferson was a deist.

Ben Franklin was not atheist:Packard Humanities Institute: The Papers of Benjamin Franklin

I Believe there is one Supreme most perfect Being, Author and Father of the Gods themselves.

And if you think being a deist some how means Jefferson doesn't believe in God, then you really need to read up on what deism is:
