Jon Stewart said "No one's gonna be down with that" if they start throwing trash cans through Starbucks windows. Well, we've got several rapes, spitting and throwing stuff at cops, public defecating (another one happened today), refusing to leave private businesses, blocking traffic from leaving, jumping and pounding on cars, using children as human shields to block people from leaving a building or driving their cars...

I wonder if he's still on the OWS bandwagon?

if you mean the stock exchanges, that is impossible...nor is it their plan.

It is the plan of some in the Occupy movement.

God no! Don't call yourself the Branch Davidians, the government will hole you up in some building and set fire to it.

But on the plus side, Conservatives will call OWS heroes or victims if they start killing the police and arming themselves.

Their original outrage was misplaced. I think that's what most Conservatives see. Banks are boogy-men? Wall Streeters are boogy-men? Hardly. They operate within the law. It is the job of Congress to even the playing field...it's their job to pass rules and regulations that prevent the abuse we've seen. It's their job to investigate the abuses that have occurred. Rallying your cause around $5/month fees for this/that bank services and Wall Street greed is ridiculous. Hard for conservatives to support an attack on capitalism. Congress!! Get your heads out of your butts and do something!

What a ridiculous oversimplification of the OWS movement by one of the forum's most prolific trolls. Nothing to see above people.

So let me understand this, they're trying to deny people assembling peaceably?
Can't make this **** up.

No. They're denying people the right to erect sleeping tents, warming tents, eating tents and meeting tents. Go home at night and come back all ya' want. Or sleep on park benches, I guess. It's time, Harry. You know darned well it is.

I'm pretty sure he's on your side and his comment is more to suggest that this supposed plan to "shut down wall street" is not peaceful protest.

I so completely resent being called a troll. S'matter? Make too much sense? If ya' ain't got nothin', ya' might wanna stop typing.

good point. if OWS started occupying public-places with AR-15s and other rifles, Conservatives and other right-wingers would applaud OWS for their support of the 2nd Amendment.

;)

You're being called a troll because your post is an idiotic and senseless simplification of an international movement. You've reduced to being about, what was it? 5$ fees? Why don't you go run along to threads that don't involve ideological debates. All you're doing here is living up to the avatar you have: A hyperbole addicted character who adds little of substance and provides mediocre comic relief. Now move along, you're punching way above your weight here, troll.

Protesters pledge 'block party' will shut down Wall Street

I heard about these plans only today and I'm curious who thinks planning to "shut down Wall Street" is a good idea? I don't. I think it'll only make their movement look bad. They're obviously looking to provoke a reaction. That's my opinion, what do you think? Do you support this idea?

While I think many of our current policies regarding wall street are misguided and harmful, a sudden shutdown would not be in anyone's interest.

So, no.

I wouldn't be too concerned, Maggie. He thinks anyone who disagrees with him is a "troll".

Wow, you must be hot for me, Hatuey. :rofl :rofl I feel a tug on my pigtails.

I'm starting to think that the only way for OWS to "win" support is for them to call themselves Branch Davidians and start killing cops and DEA agents. Maybe that will get them the support of Conservative hacks.

LOL, and you accuse Maggie of being a troll. Project much?

You start a thread about a movement you have tried to make "look bad" no matter what they do and you accuse others of trolling? Lawls. Look sparky, it doesn't really matter what OWS does. At the end of the day, you don't like them. So whether they carry our legal or illegal action, you'll find a reason to bitch and moan about how "bad" they look to people who disagree with OWS for ideological reasons. It's not my fault you attract anti-OWS psychophants like MaggieD who don't have a first clue as to what it is about but feel the need to insert themselves into any discussion about it and then cry because they're being called trolls.

What is OWS about again Maggie? 5$ fees?

Interesting action if it happens. One has to ponder, "What goal is served by shutting down traffic/commerce on Wall Street??".

Helping bring attention to economic injustice in this country over the last 30 years to build the political will to fix it. Civil disobedience has been a big part of the social evolution in this country and around the world.

Best thing to do with Hatuey is to ignore him. He'll go away...

I don't see how anyone can support OWS. I can understand standing up against corporate greed and corporate involvement in government... But acting like children and throwing a tantrum isn't the way to stand up for those ideals.

You have me curious now digsbe, if you think the OWS protesters are acting childish for planning to block a street, what must you have thought of the protesters that took part in the Boston Tea Party?

Who cares? In two months they've been unsuccessful in forming any kind of cohesive organization with a clear unwavering message. First thing, they picked a stupid name. Should've given it more thought. Anyhow, they've become irrelevant.

And you are here protesting the protesters because you think they are irrelevant.................um......OK...........got it!

No, I don't support OWS. Protests against Wall Street and the government deregulations that have led to near economic collapse, yes. But two months of camping in public parks, attacking film crews, vandalism, blocking public buildings and private businesses, blocking intersections and roadways, this affects real people, people who are part of this 99% are being hurt. They've got a jillion different messages... protesting Wall Street, protesting university tuitions, protesting the damned establishment, protesting capitalism, who the hell knows what this mixed-up bunch of modern day hippies are even saying?

As I said somewhere else, it's like Woodstock sneezed and a thousand droplets of snot infected the entire nation. I'm as mad as the next guy over what government being in bed with big business for the past decades has wrought, but I'm not willing to turn to tromping on the rights of others, breaking laws and advocating anarchy as a solution.

I dunno bout him but if I wasnt married <blush>
