The other side is full of idiots. It's plain to see.

I agree with most of the liberal posts here. I think a large portion of the right does not realize that it's been bought and paid for by corporate interests. They cling to guns, God, and right to life candidates. They do not realize that corporations care not for any of thier beliefs; only caring for life in that it might grow into cheap labor or military members.

This part is true, but it could easily be said of the Democratic Party as well.

    Re: The Other Side...

Meh, it's a bit of everything. I usually judge folks as individuals when I debate. There's folks on the other side who are completely full of **** (but either refuse, or are incapable of recognizing that they are full of ****), and there's folks on the other side who are reasonable and can make a solid defense of their position.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

    Re: The Other Side...

    - Is usually better informed and comes up with better ideas than my side

Better informed? No. I think both sides are pretty decently informed in the sense of how many of them are informed. And I think "better" in terms of the ways or types their informed is a bit more subjective. I do'nt agree that they come up with "better" ideas than my side because generally "better" is a personal determination and I generally dislike most of the ideas the other side has thus making it hard to consider it "better".

    - Often Make Good Points

Many do, many don't. Often is probably to generous to either side in regards to the amount they make GOOD points.

    - Is Mostly Reasonable

I almost clicked this one, but not. I think most of your "reasonable" people tend towards more of the middle which is harder for me to clearly label as the "other side". I think when you get solidly into the left or right the split between the reasonable and unreasonable is closer to 50/50

    - Generally has the country's best interests at hearts

I voted for this one, but with the caveat that they have the country's best interest at hearts based on their view of the world. Same thing I feel about the right. I think both sides are primarily working towards pushing the US in a way that will be best for the country...I just think there's SIGNIFICANT differences in what each side thinks the "best" may be or what actions may actually lead to the best or not.

    - Is doing its best

I don't really think any political side is doing the best it can right now. I think both are more worried about keeping the other side from doing their best or even less then their best rather than trying to do their own best and convince people that's the better option

    - Is full of idiots

Are there idiots? Yes. Is it "full of" idiots? Not really any more than most groups you find. I think most on either side aren't "idiots", just people with very very different views of the world.

    - Is completely incompotent

Nope, there are many compotent people on the other side

    - Hell bent on destroying the country

Possible fringe on either side that's desire is that? Yes. The other side as a whole? No. Both sides primarily would like to keep the United States of America existing

    - Is the Devil

The other side isn't the devil, Foolsball is the devil.

Now how does this makes sense? Attempting to act in the country's best interest yet being the devil seems pretty mutually exclusive.

To the OP; where's the "If it wasn't for double standards, they wouldn't have any standards" option?

    Re: The Other Side...

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that most people picked option #4 (generally has the country's best interests at heart). I think both sides have good intentions and both sides have plenty of idiots.

I was just trying to string a few together, it does not have to make sense.

Also note this is about the other side, not your side.
