I really don't know. I can't see how he walks away at all. It is beyond my understanding.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Paterno is like the pope of penn state. He has many followers even though he condones pedophilia.

Yeah, I'm also wondering how this guy goes to sleep at night.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Oh bullspit. No body believes he condones pedophilia. IF anything, the knock on him is that he didn't do enough, but no one...NO ONE....believe he condones pedophilia. If you do, you are reacting with emotions only.

I'm noticing a lot of people are not thinking this through and just going with the mob mentality.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

That has got to be one of, if not the most idiotic things I've ever read on this site. Congrats.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Of course he doesn't condone pedophilia and that is why he made certain that this crime was dealt with by the police. To let it continue on would someday tarnish Penn State.

Sadly? I think you are right.

Does anybody know if the fans that went to the game today were wearing more blue or more white? I am just curious as had read that people were asked to wear blue in support of child abuse victims and some were gonna wear white in support of Joe.

It was a very blue crowd, but there was a fair number of white too.
