As a fan of cars aesthetically and mechanically/technologically and a fan of the art of driving, I'd rather have a nice car. I'd trade a dream house for a Nissan GT-R Spec-V, a Porsche 911 GT2 RS (a 612 horspower RWD coupe!) or a Audi R8 any day.

Re: Would you rather have a nice house or nice cars(s)

I honestly don't get the fascination with cars. I want something decent that's fuel efficient and in good shape and not too costly to maintain. I don't want to drive an junker, but the last thing I need is a luxury or sports car.

Now, a nice house ... yeah, I want that.

Not a bad choice, but even I would not want that as a daily driver.

The cost of that would be (assuming original and not a replica) would go beyond a nice house of course

my wife drives a '10 GT3 RS...and it's too much car for me to deal with as it is... adding almost 200 more bhp is just nuts.

I have friends and relatives with old money. They could not care less about the age of their cars. Their houses are nice, certainly not ostentatious. IMHO, a parent would be doing their children a grand favor teaching them that appearance and affectation is bull****. It isn't at all what makes like enjoyable. Kids - especially looking at the future they will face - would benefit from understanding that money can be used for good or for evil.

I look at it this way: you can indulge yourself and tickle your fancy - after you pay the rent.

My house is 3000 sq ft with a pool out back. all of my cars are at least 7 years old.

That. Home is more important, because you live there. Vehicles are primarily for transportation.

Thinking a flashy car is better than a nice house is a fantasy for the young. Give them a few years out in the world and they'll start to understand why.

Psshew! You are a lucky man. Like you say, even the GT3 RS is nuts; it is hardly a daily driver and is basically a pure track car. Have you seen any videos of the GT2? I mean, it literally gives me an erection watching it go through turns, back end out and flat as a rug the whole time. That sound...oooooh, that sound.

it's got nuthin to do with me bein' lucky...that car is hers, paid for by her labor and money.... I don't touch the damn thing anymore.

now if i had a closed course to drive on, i'd rip it up.... but it's too much car to deal with in traffic as a daily driver... my CXT is more my style, or one of my hogs
