27 of the 54 Founding Fathers had Christian Seminary degrees. Sessions of the Continetal Congress were opened with prayer sessions. Thomas Jefferson and other Founders regularly attended Church services that were held IN THE US CAPITOL BUILDING. How does that strike ya? Go ahead; try and refute it.

I've already posted quotes that our founder's made. Yes they attended church but doesn't mean they believed any of their teachings. Remember people were very conservative back then just like they are now. Being a christain was must. Officially ever single president we have had is a christian because that's a what americans want. We know that's not the case. There were presidents that werent. Like jefferson and lincoln.

God, I hope you never get a job teaching your "version" of history to kids. :doh

No. Creationism isn't a scientific theory and no sane biologist believes in it. This letting kids decide is crap from the religious right to indoctrinate our children.

But... you know a lot of people believe in it right? Don't tell me scientist don't believe in it... cuz they do. Obviously there's this thing called a christian who is a scientist surprising right? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/20/40-of-americans-still-bel_n_799078.html
Thats good enough amount of people to let it be taught in school.

Not even christian scientists believe in it. I think the last pope actually said science and religion don't conflict so i don't know why some politicians are trying to mix it together. That number you showed me is disturbing. You have that same poll in other developed nations, i bet you that number is lower.

vatican would be able to struggle with nazis as they struggled with communism..but they didnt...
But that's not what you originally asked. You asked why the Vatican did nothing to STOP THE GENOCIDE. Of course they could have "struggled" by issuing public condemnations, but how would this have stopped the holocaust? I'm sure that if the Pope had been a bit more vebal, Hitler would have just shut down all the camps and sent all the remaining Jews back home with full restitution.

The pope doesn't speak for protestants just to let you know. And I guess me and the pope disagree.
So your saying christian scientist don't believe that god created the world..... wuhhh...

And we teach evolution in school which has how many people believing it?

Who the hell cares what the pope says?

I do feel a bit sorry for these college kids, like 99percenter here, who fall under the spells of their left wing professors who are tying to push an agenda. They just keep sendin' 'em out into the world spouting the same old worn out talking points, and unsubstantiated fertilizer. *Sighs*......... I suppose I'll just have to redouble my efforts.
I spent 8 years going to college half time at night, never heard any left wing propaganda. Must be a daylight professor only thing...

Just curious....are you an atheist?

I don't have too. The founder's quotes speak for themselves.
So does their prayer and regular Church attendance.
Hey rookie, for every so-called "anti-Christian" quote you dig up from the Founders, I'll produce two or three that shows that the majority espoused Christianity, its doctrines, and principles. I've done it before in another thread, and I don't really feel like staying up all night rehashing it with you.

Some advice. Stop relying on Google and talking points from your biased professors and go out and actually read some biographies and primary source documents. Try a real historiographic approach to this question. Ask your professors if they actually even know what a "historiography" is.

The truth is out there..........you simply need to take off your blinders occasionally.

Poll: Most Americans Don't Believe Evolution

Gallup 'Darwin's Birthday' Poll: Fewer than Four in Ten Believe in Evolution - God & Country (usnews.com)

You're just showing evidence that our children are being taught false theories like creationism and intelligent design. I was a bio major in college and i knew a lot of folks that attend church but didnt believe in creationism. And i hope that any that doesn't believe in evolution doesn't go into medicine. You need to believe in evolution to be a doctor.

Maybe she isn't in college....

I have to say your attacks are starting to get a bit personal. I don't expect you to agree with me but at least show some respect and have a civil discussion.

Most educated folks tend to be liberal.

Yep. I suppose all the biased "daylight" professors must spend their nights at cult meetings or something.

Being called a rookie is not really that denegating and nothing to be ashamed of. I was just offering some friendly advice.

IF you are refering to me I'm a he and I'm in the workforce right now but i did attend college.

My bad. You didn't have your gender in your profile, so I just assumed you were female.
