You didn't take care of yourself. Your entire life, you've used public infrastructure to get where you need to go and to get the goods/services you need. If you're like most people, you probably attended a public school at some point in your life. If you've hired any workers, you've benefited from THEIR education, most of whom probably attended a public school at some point in their life. If you're like most people, you parked at least some of your money (especially when you were first starting out) in a federally-insured bank which instilled some modicum of confidence in the financial system. You've benefited (either directly or indirectly) from federal health initiatives. You've benefited more than most people from federal agents with big guns who protect your property and enforce your contracts.

The idea that you "took care of yourself" with no help from the taxpayers is bull****. If you disagree, imagine that you had been born in poverty in a rural village in Sub-Saharan Africa. Do you think you would have enjoyed any of the success that you have? Or would you be struggling to eke out a subsistence existence like everyone else in your village?

To answer that question, let's ask what do we need most out of government?:

    To protect our individual rights.
To provide needed infrastructure (roads, etc.).
To stop meddling into our business at home.
    To stop meddling abroad.
To eliminate programs and departments government should not be doing.

Considering that the taxes we all pay are far more than what is needed for legitimate govt. functions, WE SHOULD REDUCE TAXES AND REVENUE UNTIL ALL WASTE AND ABUSE IS ELIMINATED.

What would lower taxes and lack of revenue do to slow or stop waste and abuse?

I have always been a proponent of a "human rights tariff" to equalize the price of goods made in countries with poor labor rights to bring them more in line with countries that do.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

God made man. The Libbos want the government to make them all equal.

So, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Hamilton, Franklin, & Washington...were Liberals?

As I understand it, the word "liberal" (in the political context) has evolved over time and does not necessarily mean the same thing now that it meant 200 years ago.

    All men weren't created equal.

I have an employee, that is fixing to lose his job and that piece-a-crap is no where close to being my equal.
