Oh books. These make me happy - old and dusty. I buy old ones (100 years or so) - like science and religious books - read for interest.

I was totally giddy to receive a book on American conservative media in the 18th and 19th centuries. It was so sweet.

Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching.

That sounds like an awesome read - any good stuff in there?

I'm disappointed. There was no choice for "watching hippies get maced by the cops"! Ahh, true bliss :D

You need your ass ran our of SF BAY AREA! :lamo:lamo

If this doesn't bring a smile to your face, you're dead inside:

Much. For one thing, it had an elaborate introduction that tried to explain American conservatism and its seeming contradictions. This one was a bit more technical in its writing than other explanations I had read, but it had much to offer in way of explaining how conservatism (probably much like liberalism) is not a strict adherence of beliefs, meant to be executed in very specific ways. There's a lot of wiggle room involved. A lot of them are synopses of newspapers, their writers, and the positions they took and how it may have changed over time. It's also a great way of keeping track with what the intellectual climate had for specific publications. It's easy to forget what publications existed when, or easy to forget their existence at all.

Even if you're not a Christian, you just have to smile at this. :)

Lots of things, including at least half of the choices in the poll.

Family, friends, reading, sex, music, dancing, learning new things, seeing justice and/or fairness prevail, especially in our society, camping, hiking, swimming, trying new things, helping people.

Having someone who loves you and you love back is the best thing in the world!

I love my family, friends, pets (dog and cat) and job. Life is good.

to create something , a piece, a handiwork ,to do fine arts and to play an instrument can make you feel happy, too.I know myself.ı was so little and when ı was playing piano,ı was the happiest child.

I agree - creativity is best.

You don't have the correct option in the poll...which would be "Drugs".

Consistent happiness is a choice.

Love, productivity, health, a clear conscience, helping someone, "enough" money, seeing humor in most anything, and not taking myself too seriously.

drug doesnt make you happy but it just makes you entertain and puts off

The same could be said about anything. Entertainment and being "put off" is basically what makes us happy. I might like going on roller coasters, and roller coasters make me happy, but they don't do anything more than drugs do.
