Carter is not even close to being our worst President. Not Hoover. Not Truman. Not Clinton. Not Bush. Not Nixon. All of these were pretty bad, but not the worst.

    See the list below:

    Fifth worst -- Woodrow Wilson
    Fourth worst -- Lyndon Johnson
    Third worst -- Abraham Lincoln
Second worst -- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
All time worst -- by far -- AMERICA'S GREATEST TRAITOR -- BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

Nice to know that your list is essentially the opposite of what historians say.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

So define "modern history." Unless you consider the 1860's and 1920's-30's to be modern history.

Eh. Nicer that he can judge a presidency before it is even finished. Or, that he can ignore some of the truly greats.

So your answer to what appears the implied question regarding the Civil War presidents is "Everybody but Lincoln"?

Depending on how you define "modern", yes absolutely Obama has given Carter a run for his money as the worst president in modern history. Herbert Hoover was president from 1929-1933, hardly within the bounds of most reasonable definitions of "modern", to say nothing of James Buchanan (1857-1861) or Franklin Pierce (1853-1857), to whom I believe the second option is referring.

The real question here is whether or not Obama is a worse president than Carter.

I don't need a bunch of pencil neck, academic pinheads to tell me how I should form an personal opinion. BO's fiscal madness will have a negative impact on this Country for generations to come. Anyone that does not see this has absolutely no credibility and is a partisan hack.

Out of those choices, Hoover. Out of all the president's, Lincoln.

What a bad poll. The OP should just write his opinion on the topic rather than a poll like this one.
