Is there anything in this post that isn't pure opinion? By "pasted", did you mean passed? Yikes!

As for protesting Obama... It seems to me that they are protesting any and all policies that have led to the current state of affairs, and that includes Obama and his Wall St heavy appointees. That Obama has tried to co-opt the spirit of the movement for political jockeying is no surprise in the run up to an election cycle... the question is, right or left... who is naive or ignorant enough to buy into that ...

Yes... but who created that platform? Come on... you're big on research...

That's like saying I'm a patriot but don't much care for the history of the founders... I just need to believe I'm a patriot.

Lastly, I didn't ask you nor did I imply that you followed anyone in that party/philosophy, it's obvious you don't.... just wondering if you truly know that platform and where it came from.

We are paying her student loans for now while she continues applying because there is no way she could pay them herself.

Before anyone says my baby girl is lazy, isn't really looking for a job, etc. -- this is a kid worked 30 hours a week and was an honor student in college. She is extremely motivated and driven. She has applied for many hundreds of jobs in her field. The jobs just are not out there. As for jobs outside of her field - when employers see her education and GPA, they figure she won't stay in a decent job with their firm. She is left filling low-wage, high-turnover positions to live.

My guess is a lot of the people defaulting on their student loans are in the same boat as our daughter and their parents are not in a financial situation to help them.
You know a bill came up in congress to eliminate the tax break for companies outsourcing jobs and guess which party voted as a majority against the bill?

I am sorry if these links have been posted but I like them and thought would post them. Lots of the 1% are in support of the 99%.

'Occupy' protesters find allies among the wealthy - US news - Life - msnbc.com

My fav. from the link above is this?

    "Why did you get involved?

“I've been concerned about the role of corporations in American politics for a long time and so I went down originally to see if the people at 'Occupy' were also talking about a constitutional amendment or (revocation of) corporate personhood as … a possible demand. But the more I went down, the more I realized that they’re really on target to not have any specific demand. I think this will lead to … policy changes. But I think that they are right to wait and let the movement grow … before choosing anything too specific.”

But the theory I tend to believe is that they actually think they ARE the rich. They think that like owning a house and two cars means they're amongst "the rich" that people want to tax more. LOL.
I tend to think that some people believe in personal responsibility and others do not. The fact that someone has more than I do does not make it right for me to take it. The fact that someone has less does not mean they should not still have to pay their way. Helping others financially is called charity (a very good thing). Taking money from someone to help someone else financially is called theft.

In addition, if you were depending upon using your house as a bank account to pay for college, then I love ya brother, but you made an economically bone-headed decision. I would suggest from now on you not bank chunks of your childrens' future on your desire to live in a house that you can't afford.

I don't see anything that would lead to the conclusion this guy bought more house than he could afford.

Maybe he's owned it for years and now its worth so much less that he's upside down. Maybe that 70k was invested somewhere that it was lost in the crash.

I agree about his daughters options with a 4.0 GPA.

I just take issue with your assumption that everybody who's having a hard time must be a ****up.

Its a kind of arrogance I see in myself and other hyper-competent people, and personally I try to avoid it.
