Just a question about Polls.

Guests being allowed to vote in the Poll section of the board is not going to change. It is like a gateway drug. First people vote in polls, then they register to post, and then we have hooked them like crack. The board owner is very firm on this.
that is the typical drug dealers attitude.

Or a chicago politician
Or a lawyer for that matter. :2razz:
And taste like what? I'm waiting!

Guest votes could easly be noted as guest votes, i.e. a total given supporting a particular choice, e.g. 4 guest votes. The poll I got into to had about 60 guest votes and 17 real votes on one choice. A result that was displayed as '17 Member & 60 Guest' would allow the guest to participate and be motivated to join, but I guess only if there weren't 60 guest votes; but there wouldn't be if it was posted like that.Guests being allowed to vote in the Poll section of the board is not going to change. Is there a way to track IP's though? That way someone can't just go vote 1k times anonymous. Say only one vote per IP address? Might not have the coding to do this though. I do agree that anonymous should be able to vote, why do you think I made my account?
But have you noticed that even when you chose the public poll option when a logged in voter votes that voter no longer can see who has voted unless he logs out. Yup, you have to log out, go back to the poll thread as a ‘visitor’ to see who has voted for what. Then you have to count the number of names to get an accurate count. While you’re there you might as well vote again. If you want the polls to be accurate then keep using the public poll option and count only the users.
